Guidebook for the Emergence

A practitioner's companion to The (Currently Nameless) Superorganism — for circles, organizations, and individuals beginning to embody the FSx pattern in actual practice. Released to the Knowledge Commons under CC-BY-SA 4.0.

What This Guidebook Is

The constitutional package at The (Currently Nameless) Superorganism defines what we agree to — the Ø + eight layers (Ø ONE → the (Eternally Nameless) Superorganism → Stewardship Agreement → Ecosystem Holding Charter → Ecosystem Resourcing Pool Charter → FSx Ecosystem Template → FSx Guild Template → FSx Organism Template → FSx Individual Template), the Stewardship Principles, the Asset and Purpose Locks, the Threshold of Federation, the FSx pattern itself, and the structural separation between governance, capital, operations, and individuals. It is spare and definitional by design. Constitutions earn their authority by being short.

This Guidebook is the companion. It addresses how groups actually embody the pattern — the practitioner-facing layer that walks a starting circle through becoming, coming together, working together, federating, and living the pattern across seasons.

It is not a replacement for, or modification of, the constitutional package. The Articles say what is binding. The Guidebook teaches what is workable. Where the two appear to diverge, the constitutional package governs while discernment takes place and one or both documents is revised to reflect the current best understanding.

This Guidebook is a synthesis, not an original work. It draws extensively on, and acknowledges its debt to, the bodies of practice already developed by sister bodies — chiefly:

What is gathered here is synthesized into what we are provisionally calling the FSx pattern language (generic open source) and the LIØNSBERG FSx pattern language (open source + immediate federation and access to the LIØNSBERG Commons and platforms as a starting point). Both are freely offered as offered as a starting point — not the only one, and not the final form. Any group may take, adapt, fork, or refuse it. The entire intention, however, is to become and remain one powerful body.

The Core Enabling Breakthrough

Any group, anywhere, may instantiate the open-source FSx pattern independently — the VII - The FSx Organism Template is released to the Knowledge Commons under CC-BY-SA 4.0, free for anyone to adopt, adapt, and embody. A village, a cooperative, a guild, a bioregion, an individual: any of these may constitute themselves as an FSx without ever federating with the (Currently Nameless) Superorganism. The pattern is a gift. Forming in isolation and then working to find and federate with others later may be a valid approach.

What the FSx ecosystem adds — and what makes this Guidebook distinct from a generic FSx guidebook — is one structural breakthrough:

Every entity that federates from the beginning receives a dynamic governance and economic stake in the whole ecosystem from day one — not only in its own organization.

A group adopting the open-source FSx pattern in isolation is sovereign, but its standing in the wider commons must be negotiated separately, later, agreement by agreement. A group that federates with the FSx pattern at the outset receives, by the act of federation itself, standing in the Ecosystem Holding Company, a fair share of the ecosystem commons pool, access to the Switchboard's multi-capital flows, a voice in the governance of the whole, and access to capital deployment from the Ecosystem Resourcing Pool's fund-of-funds, ergodically pooled across the federation. Sovereignty is preserved at every scale; isolation is structurally overcome; capital risk is structurally pooled.

This is the core enabling breakthrough this Guidebook is written around. Most of what follows is the practical question: given that we want to start this way, how do we actually start?

The Journey

This Guidebook follows the actual sequence a starting group walks through, in six parts plus an investor's path. A small village, a founding circle, a sole practitioner, an established organization considering federation, or a person bringing capital can pick up the journey at the part most relevant to where they are.

Part 0 — 0 - How to Read This

Orientation. The metaphysical, physical, and agreement worlds. Soul, avatar, and legal person. Developmental practice as constitutive (not optional) infrastructure. Working from Beyond — accessing the third thing present whenever two or more gather. A cosmic-context nod (Spaceship Earth, Hitchhiker's, LIØNSBERG). How to use the Guidebook alongside the constitutional package.

Part I — 1 - Becoming - The Sovereign Individual

The inner work. Size of being and developmental honesty. The dissolution of programmed identity. Discerning Mentors and constituting yourself as an FSx Individual. Dojo practice and safe sparring — the regular held space for becoming. Time horizons: about three years to baseline competence, about ten years to fuller mastery, a lifetime to keep developing. Working from Beyond at personal scale. The first ring of agreement: with self, ONE, and All.

Part II — 2 - Coming Together - The Constituting Circle

When two or more gather. The opening agreement. Discerning the Driver. The simplest possible form. Founding circles of three to thirteen. Constituting the FSx legal person. Federating from the beginning.

Part III — 3 - Working Together - Roles, Flow, and Value Pools

Beyond the founding moment. The No Owner / No Employee / Zero Blame Co-Working Agreement. Size of Role and Size of Person (±10% match). One-degree structural protection in both directions — investors insulated from any single entity's risk; operating entities insulated from any single investor's pressure. Exit terms. The investor as a federated member. For institutional investors as well as individuals.

Status

Interim. Draft. Living. This Guidebook will evolve through the Founding Phase and beyond. Each chapter is offered as good enough for now, safe enough to try — not as the final word on its subject.

Where the constitutional package is amendable only at the Resolution tier its provisions reside in (Ordinary, Special, Entrenched), this Guidebook is more like an open wiki: anyone practicing the pattern is invited to refine it, season by season. Major version markers will accompany the Annual General Meetings.
