Appendix D - Lexicon
Working terms across the Ø + eight layers of the (Currently Nameless) Superorganism's constitutional package. Definitions are interim; refinement during the Founding Phase is welcomed.
A
Active Constituency. A Member Constituency with at least one Member in good standing at the date of notice for a meeting or resolution. Used in quorum and Weighted Governance Dynamic provisions of III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter.
Adaptive Way. A developmental practice tradition originating with Evolutesix, integrating contemplative, sociocratic, and integral-developmental elements. One of the recognized practice traditions for Stewardship eligibility under §4.2 of the Charter.
Agency, not ownership. The architectural commitment that constitutes the body. The body has full legal personhood but is not owned by any party. See §4 of II - The Stewardship Agreement and §1.4 of III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter.
Annual General Meeting (AGM). The yearly governance gathering of the Ecosystem Company's Members. Held within twelve months of each financial year-end, and at the Summer Solstice in the established annual rhythm.
Articles. The constitutional text of the Ecosystem Company (or of any FSx federated entity at Layer VII). See III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter for the Ecosystem Company's Articles.
Asset Lock. Entrenched provision (§10.2 of the Charter): on dissolution, all assets flow to FSx-compatible entities serving the same Driver. No capital contributor, Member, or officer may receive distribution exceeding return of invested principal or honest service compensation.
Avatar. A legal person (or other constituted vessel) through which a soul or sovereign being acts. The FSx Individual is the primary economic avatar of the individual within the federation — distinct from the flesh-and-blood person and from any other legal persons the individual may pilot. See VIII - The FSx Individual Template.
B
Bridge Fund. Pacific Domes' mechanism for resourcing transitions; one of the operational supports the founding circle brings.
Biomimicry. The framing method of the entire constitutional package: every Article, Template, and provision is an attempt to perceive and translate, as faithfully as possible, what healthy living systems already know. We watch. We learn. We translate. We try. We listen for correction. See I - The (Eternally Nameless) Superorganism.
C
Capital Gains Dynamics. Allocation of capital appreciation across Member Constituencies per §4.5 of III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter.
CC-BY-SA 4.0. Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International. The default license under which all constitutional documents, Standards, and Knowledge Commons contributions are released.
Charter. The Articles of the Ecosystem Holding Company. See III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter.
Circle. Three to twelve sovereigns committed to shared learning, work, or Quest; one of the scales of the FSx fractal (see VII - The FSx Organism Template §5).
Constituency. A category of Membership recognized at every layer of the FSx pattern. At Layer II (II - The Stewardship Agreement §6.5), eight Constituencies are recognized — Stewardship, Individual Sovereigns, Organizations, Networks, Communities and Initiatives, Tribes and Nations, Living Systems, Society — using one-voice mechanics. At Layer III (III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter §4), ten Constituencies are recognized — Stewardship, Organization, Ecosystem-Individual, Ecosystem-Company, Collaborator-Individual, Collaborator-Company, Living Systems, Society, Donor, Investor (each retaining a Class A–J label) — using weighted-governance mechanics. The pattern is holofractal in DNA (constituencies, IDM, Steward veto, tiered amendment) and adapted in mechanics (one-voice for spiritual, weighted for economic).
Constituency Resolution. A resolution passed within a single Constituency on Constituency-internal matters, or a formal proposal escalated from a Constituency to the Board.
Collaborator Member. A Member of Class E (Individual) or Class F (Company) who participates in specific Ecosystem Company projects without full federation.
Commentary. The longer-form 18-chapter elaboration drafted under the prior "Voluntary Association for Earth" framing. Preserved in the vault as source material; superseded as the master frame by this constitutional package.
Commons Standard (CS-1). Standard for Knowledge Commons contribution, peer-assessed utility, and Cultural Commons protocol.
Consensus. The preferred decision method under II - The Stewardship Agreement §11.3 (Layer II) and a process pathway in III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter: all voices heard, no major objections remain.
Consent. Decision method under §11.3 of the Stewardship Agreement: a decision proceeds if there are no reasoned and substantial objections.
Constellation. The map of individuals, organizations, and projects in conversation with or within one degree of the founding circle. See Appendix B - The Constellation.
Council of Peers. A small wise council (typically three to seven FSx Individual, themselves often constituted as a 2nd-Order FSx) that may serve as the multi-voice constitution of an FSx Individual in lieu of two individual Mentors, in contexts where individual Mentors are difficult to find. See VIII - The FSx Individual Template §2.
Cross-Fund Ergodic Pool. The mechanism at IV - The Ecosystem Resourcing Pool Charter §8 by which sub-funds within the Resourcing Pool share a portion of returns (default 30%) with each other. Returns flow up to the Pool and back down across all sub-funds, dampening variance across the portfolio. The structural realization of The Ergodic Investor's ensemble pooling wisdom at the fund-of-funds scale.
D
Decision Standard (DS-1). Standard specifying Integrative Decision-Making rounds, the three-level response structure (agreement, concern, objection), and protocol details.
Direct Resolution. First step of the conflict-evolution process under §13.1 of the Stewardship Agreement.
Dividend Sharing Dynamics. Allocation of distributable surplus across Member Constituencies per §8.1 of the Charter.
Dojo. A deliberately-held space for structured developmental practice — borrowed from martial-arts traditions and used here generically. Can be a weekly Circle gathering, a quarterly retreat, a daily contemplative sit, a peer Mentor session, a Council of Peers convening. What makes it a dojo: deliberate, regular, safe enough to attempt what is difficult. Dojo practice is named in Guidebook for the Emergence Chapter 1 (individual scale) and Chapter 3 (collective scale) as constitutive infrastructure for the body's success across generations. Supported by the Developmental Infrastructure Funding allocation under III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter §7.6.
Donor Member. A Member of Class H who contributes capital without expectation of financial return.
Driver Statement. The entrenched purpose of the superorganism. See Appendix A - The Driver Statement.
Dynamic Governance Stake. A share of voice in the body a participant federates into. Dynamic because it evolves as the participant and the federation learn and grow together over time. Every Fractal Sovereign that federates — at every layer of the lattice — carries a Dynamic Governance Stake in each body it federates into. Mechanically expressed through Weighted Governance Dynamics at the layer in question.
Dynamic Value Stake. A share in the value a participant's work generates and in the value the wider ecosystem generates. Dynamic in the same sense as Dynamic Governance Stake. Mechanically expressed through Capital Gains Dynamics, Dividend Sharing Dynamics, the Profit Pool, and Knowledge Commons Credits. The pair (Dynamic Governance Stake + Dynamic Value Stake) is what every federated party carries from day one.
Discernment (not Invention). The constitutional package's epistemic stance: we are not inventing new patterns; we are perceiving and translating patterns already operating in the living world. When something belongs in the new paradigm, we discover it. When it does not, we let it pass. See I - The (Eternally Nameless) Superorganism.
E
Ecosystem Company. Short for the Ecosystem Holding Company. The Layer III economic federation entity. See III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter.
Ecosystem Fund. Strategic capital pool comprising 10% of distributable surplus, used for new-Member capitalization, Founding-Phase work, crisis response, and consented strategic initiatives. See §7.5 of the Charter. May be migrated by Special Resolution into the Resourcing Pool as a Strategic Ecosystem sub-fund.
Ecosystem Holding Company (the Ecosystem Company). The Layer III economic federation entity, governed under III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter. Sibling FSx to the Ecosystem Resourcing Pool at Layer IV; the Holding Company coordinates governance and value flows, the Resourcing Pool coordinates capital.
Ecosystem Resourcing Pool (the Resourcing Pool). The Layer IV capital coordination entity — fund-of-funds, internal bank, and primary capital deployment source for federated operating entities. Itself constituted as an FSx under IV - The Ecosystem Resourcing Pool Charter. Federates a portfolio of sub-fund FSx instances and operates the Cross-Fund Ergodic Pool. Holds investor capital accounts under capped returns per IS-1.
Ecosystem Member. A Member of Class C (Individual) or Class D (Company) whose work substantially supports cross-cutting commons or developmental infrastructure.
Emergency Resolution. A Resolution under §5.6 of the Charter passed by the Board when time is genuinely critical, requiring unanimous Steward consent for entrenched matters and ratification at the next General Meeting. Emergency Resolutions touching matters reserved for Special or Entrenched Resolution must be ratified by the appropriate tier within 90 days or they lapse.
Entrenched Resolution. The highest amendment tier under II - The Stewardship Agreement §11.4, III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter §5.6, IV - The Ecosystem Resourcing Pool Charter §5.5, and VII - The FSx Organism Template Article 25. Requires: IDM consent across all Active Constituencies; bare majority within each Active Constituency; unanimous consent of every sitting Steward; on fallback, 85% supermajority (one-voice at Layer II, Weighted Governance Dynamics at Layers II–IV); and a one-year reflection period between formal proposal and ratifying vote. Required for amendment of provisions entrenched at this tier (the wording of the Driver Statement, each Stewardship Principle individually, the detailed Asset Lock provisions, the Purpose Lock).
Executive Board. The governance body of the Ecosystem Company (Layer III), constituted under §5.3 of the Charter. At least five Directors in the Founding Phase, adjustable to 11 or 13 as the Ecosystem Company scales. Sometimes shortened to the Board.
Entrenched provisions. Provisions protected by tiered entrenchment. Absolutely entrenched provisions (the Central Animating Spirit, the spirit of the Driver Statement, the no-extraction principle of the Asset Lock, the right of voluntary entry and exit) can be changed only through dissolution and reconstitution of the superorganism. Provisions entrenched at the Entrenched Resolution tier (the wording of the Driver, each Stewardship Principle, the detailed Asset Lock provisions, the Purpose Lock) require an Entrenched Resolution including a one-year reflection period. See II - The Stewardship Agreement §11.4 and §11.7, III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter §10.
Evolutesix. Originator of the FairShares Commons framework, the Adaptive Way, and the FSx pattern. See Appendix B - The Constellation.
Eternally Nameless Superorganism (the). Layer I. The underlying ontological reality — the single living whole of which we are all already inseparable participants. Articulated nowhere in the package because the thing that can be named is not ultimately the Thing. The silent first reference of everything beneath. See I - The (Eternally Nameless) Superorganism.
F
FairShares Commons. The multi-stakeholder commons-oriented organizational pattern from which the FSx pattern derives. One ancestral expression of the FSx genus — originated by Evolutesix, FairShares Association, and collaborators (see Provenance in VII - The FSx Organism Template).
Federation Agreement. The instrument by which a federated entity becomes a Member of the Ecosystem Company under III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter §3.2 and §4.
Founding Members. Those admitted during the Founding Phase per Board resolution. The specific Founding Membership is to be determined during the Founding Phase. See §12.1 of the Charter.
Founding Phase. Summer Solstice 2026 through Summer Solstice 2027. The year-long process of deliberation, refinement, and ratification. See Appendix C - Founding Phase Timeline.
FSx. Fractal Sovereign (x) — a FairShares Commons-type fractal sovereign legal person with agency independent of its members, with dynamic weighted governance and economic rights. The 'x' is the variable that takes any scale of the fractal as its value: Sovereign Being, Circle, Company, Community, Federation Node, Bioregion, Planetary Federation, Guild. The pattern is genus; FairShares Commons is one ancestral expression of it. See VII - The FSx Organism Template.
FSx-compatible. Affirming the Compatibility Tests at the end of VII - The FSx Organism Template — agency independent of any single party, multi-constituency governance, dynamic weighted governance and economic rights, six-capital accounting, Asset Lock and Purpose Lock, Knowledge Commons contribution, member sovereignty within, nonviolence and transparency, Driver compatibility.
Fund of Funds. The architectural pattern at IV - The Ecosystem Resourcing Pool Charter in which a parent FSx (the Resourcing Pool) federates a portfolio of sub-fund FSx instances. Each sub-fund is sovereign in its own domain; cross-fund flows are governed by the Cross-Fund Ergodic Pool. Sub-funds may be bioregional, sectoral, purpose/Quest-based, vintage-based, or strategic.
FSx Ecosystem. Layer V. A place-based or community-based federation — village, neighborhood, watershed, bioregion, peoples — constituted as a sovereign no-owner FSx in its own right. Place-bound bodies that band together more strongly than the planetary spine alone requires, sharing more value and more risk, holding common assets, and presenting a coherent body to the wider federation. Many instances. See V - The FSx Ecosystem Template.
FSx Guild. Layer VI. A vocational federation — craft, skill, practice tradition — constituted as a sovereign no-owner FSx in its own right. The body through which a craft tends itself: standards, ethics, lineage, mentorship, witnessing of mastery. Many instances. See VI - The FSx Guild Template.
FSx Organism. Layer VII. The form an operating entity takes when it federates: company, village trust, bioregional initiative, cooperative, foundation, clinic. Sovereign in its own domain, typically belongs to several Layer IV–V intermediaries at once. Many instances. See VII - The FSx Organism Template.
Fractal Sovereign. A constituted FSx body at any scale (Layer VIII through Layer III). Self-similar in pattern across scales — same DNA, scale-appropriate mechanics. The constituent unit of the lattice. Each Fractal Sovereign carries a Dynamic Governance Stake and Dynamic Value Stake in every body it federates into.
G
General Meeting. Either the Annual General Meeting (yearly, at Summer Solstice) or an Extraordinary General Meeting convened per §5.1 of the Charter.
Governance Standard (GS-1). Standard specifying Director representation, Constituency Representative roles, Committee structures.
Ground Pattern. Practice infrastructure for embodied developmental work; one of the elements supported by the Developmental Infrastructure Funding (§7.6 of the Charter).
I
Issue Log. A fractal tool for tracking issues, concerns, and open questions at any scale of the body — planetary, FSx Ecosystem, FSx Guild, FSx Organism, Circle, FSx Individual. Each entry names the issue, the surfacing party, the date, the current status, and any resolution or open thread. The log is one of the templates available in the Toolkit for the Emergence. The planetary-scale Issue Log lives at Issue Log.
Individual Member. A human individual holding standing in the superorganism. May acquire Constituency placement in any of Classes C, E, G, H, J, or I as appropriate.
Integrative Decision-Making (IDM). The default decision method for the Ecosystem Company (Layer III) under §5.5 of the Charter, specified in DS-1. Three-level response structure: agreement, concern, objection.
Investment Standard (IS-1). Standard specifying Investor Constituency terms, capped returns (default 7% maximum per investor across all sub-fund holdings), liquidity, and non-controlling provisions. Operationalized through the Ecosystem Resourcing Pool at Layer IV.
Investee-Company Member. A federated operating entity at Layer VII that has received capital deployment from the Resourcing Pool. Holds Class E standing in IV - The Ecosystem Resourcing Pool Charter §4.
Investor Member. A Member of Class I (subdivided I-A and I-B) who contributes capital with capped return per IS-1. At Layer III this represents governance standing in the Ecosystem Holding Company; the capital itself is held in sub-fund FSx instances within the Resourcing Pool at Layer IV.
Investor-Individual FSx Member. A FSx Individual who has placed capital with the Resourcing Pool. Holds Class C standing in IV - The Ecosystem Resourcing Pool Charter §4.
Investor-Company Member. An FSx-compatible institutional investor (foundation, endowment, mission-aligned fund, family office) that has placed capital with the Resourcing Pool. Holds Class D standing in IV - The Ecosystem Resourcing Pool Charter §4.
K
Knowledge Commons. Shared body of intellectual property released under CC-BY-SA 4.0 (or equivalent commons license). Inalienable. Cannot be enclosed, sold, or privatized. Persists independently of the Ecosystem Company's existence.
Knowledge Commons Credits. Credits earned in proportion to peer-assessed utility of contributions to the Knowledge Commons. May be exchanged through the Switchboard, weighted in Weighted Governance Dynamic calculations within Class C, or used to fund Commons-adjacent work.
L
Lattice (not Tree). The structural shape of the federation. Layers III through VI are peer axes of belonging between the planetary spine (II) and the federating individual (VII), and any Fractal Sovereign typically belongs to several of these at once. Belonging is woven, not hierarchical. Trees enforce single parents; the lattice does not. See The (Currently Nameless) Superorganism.
Layer I. The (Eternally Nameless) Superorganism. The ineffable ground. See I - The (Eternally Nameless) Superorganism and the Eternally Nameless Superorganism entry above.
Laske Dialectic Thought Form (DTF). Developmental assessment used as one criterion for Stewardship candidacy under §4.2 of the Charter. Threshold: 30 or greater.
LIØNSBERG. A Superorganism whose Layers II–IV have been articulated and named, offering pattern language, governance, program management, the Grand Strategy, and the 12 Pillars. See lionsberg.wiki.
Living Systems Member. A Member of Class G holding-in-trust for specific natural domains and the more-than-human kin (a watershed, a forest, a species, a biome), with standing to represent those domains in Ecosystem Company decisions.
LUV (LIØNSBERG Units of Value). The cross-vault LIØNSBERG name for the same time-times-size-of-role contribution unit tracked in this federation as TEA (Time, Energy, and Attention). TEA points and LUV are kindred and operationally equivalent; federated entities may use either name. See Guidebook for the Emergence Chapter 3.
M
Mediation Council. A council formed as needed under §10.3 of the Stewardship Agreement to support conflict resolution. Members not directly involved in the conflict.
Member. A person or entity holding standing in either Layer II (the Stewardship Agreement) or Layer III (the Ecosystem Holding Charter). Membership in either layer is separate; some Members hold standing in only one layer. At Layer III and below, every Member is itself a sovereign legal person of the FSx pattern (per the Threshold of Federation).
Mentor. A wise counselor consenting to serve in the multi-voice constitution of an FSx Individual. Generally: of recognizable consciousness and capacity above the Primary Voice's level, willing and able to register Objections honestly, and prepared to evolve or dissolve the FSx Individual responsibly in the event of the Primary Voice's incapacitation. At least two Mentors (or a Council of Peers) are constitutive of every FSx Individual. See VIII - The FSx Individual Template §2 and §N.
N
NEA — New Earth Ascending. Private membership association lineage informing Layer II.
O
Omnispection. A 360-degree seasonal review conducted at each solar cardinal (Spring Equinox, Summer Solstice, Autumn Equinox, Winter Solstice) by every fractal of the body — from individual FSx Individual with their Mentors, to each Circle, each operating entity, each sub-fund, the Resourcing Pool, and the Ecosystem Holding Company. Held in the deeper mode of Working from Beyond. Reviews Quests completed, stories shared, resources flowed, Driver-alignment, and shapes the next Season. See Guidebook for the Emergence Chapter 5.
One-Voice Principle. Each Steward holds one voice in II - The Stewardship Agreement, regardless of how many entities they represent. See §7 of the Stewardship Agreement.
Ordinary Resolution. A Resolution requiring quorum, constituency presence, integrative outcome (no unresolved objection), and 60% weighted majority on fallback. See §5.6 of the Charter.
Organization Member. A Member of Class B; an incorporated entity operating on FSx-compatible Articles that has signed a Federation Agreement.
P
Pacific Domes. Geodesic manufacturing (45 years), Village Shire Model, Barn Raise Protocol, Bridge Fund.
Pass the Flame. The seventh of the Seven Moves: a mature Circle (or operating entity, sub-fund, or Mentor) identifies and forms the next Circle, entity, sub-fund, or FSx Individual. The architecture by which the body moves the whole population from the Old Paradigm to the New across generations, with no one involuntarily left behind. See Guidebook for the Emergence Chapter 5.
Primary Voice. The Sovereign Being whose constitution as an FSx Individual is established by VIII - The FSx Individual Template. The Primary Voice is one of (typically three) constitutive voices, alongside the Mentors / Council of Peers. The Primary Voice cannot federate alone; the multi-voice requirement is constitutive of FSx-ness.
Private Ecclesiastical Voluntary Membership Association. The legal form chosen for Layer II in the United States. A private voluntary association on spiritual and moral grounds, with broad protections under the right of free association. See §1 of II - The Stewardship Agreement.
Purpose Lock. Entrenched provision (§10.3 of the Charter): the Ecosystem Company's resources, assets, and operational capacity are committed to the pursuit of its Driver and may not be redirected.
Q
Quest. A bounded shared undertaking among Members, typically Circle-scale, oriented toward a specific contribution to the superorganism's purpose. Ninety-day Quest cadences are used in some federated entities.
Quorum. The minimum participation required for a meeting to take valid decisions. Specified at §5.2 of the Charter.
R
Request for Guidance. A fractal tool: a formally documented request for guidance from one party (or body) to another, tracked on a Request for Guidance Log. Used at every scale — the (Currently Nameless) Superorganism makes Requests for Guidance to its members and external advisors; FSx Ecosystems, Guilds, Organisms, and Individuals make Requests for Guidance to one another. Requests are numbered sequentially across the planetary log. Replies are documented and archived.
Regeneration.
Regeneration. The active restoration and ongoing flourishing of living systems — ecological, social, economic, cultural, spiritual. The first explicit imperative of the Driver Statement.
Resolution. A formal decision of the superorganism's or Ecosystem Company's governance bodies. Five tiers: Ordinary (60% fallback), Special (75% fallback, unanimous Steward consent), Entrenched (85% fallback, unanimous Steward consent, one-year reflection period), Constituency (within a single Constituency on its internal matters), and Emergency (Board-initiated, time-critical, must be ratified at the appropriate tier). See II - The Stewardship Agreement §11.4 and III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter §5.6.
Resourcing Pool Standard (RPS-1). Standard specifying fund-of-funds operations: sub-fund admission criteria, Cross-Fund Ergodic Pool calculation methodology, capital deployment protocols, investor onboarding, portfolio review. See IV - The Ecosystem Resourcing Pool Charter §11.
S
Safe Sparring. Structured developmental practice with another, in the dojo, on real questions. Held under the three commitments — care for self, care for the other, care for the whole. The goal is not winning the argument but accessing the third thing (Working from Beyond) that is wiser than either practitioner alone. See Guidebook for the Emergence Chapter 1.
Seven Moves. The operational gameplay loop of the body, drawn from the LIØNSBERG cross-vault tradition: (1) Wake Up. (2) Form a Circle. (3) Choose a Quest. (4) Do the Work. (5) Share Your Stories. (6) Learn and Improve. (7) Pass the Flame. Holofractal — repeated by every Circle, every Season, at every scale. After Move 7 the cycle returns to Move 1, deeper. Every fractal of the body is invited to repeat this rhythm at minimum every Solstice and Equinox via omnispection. See Guidebook for the Emergence Chapter 5.
Six Capitals Standard (SCS-1). Standard specifying multi-capital accounting and reporting methodology across Natural, Individual, Social, Intellectual, Manufactured, and Financial capitals.
Size of Person, Size of Role. The body's working principle: size of person and size of role should match within roughly ±10%. Roles too large produce overwhelm and hidden failure; roles too small produce frustration and atrophy. Size is measured on a 1–10 scale of consciousness, complexity, and care required. The omni-federation auto-nominates the right people to the right roles by transparent TEA Ledger contribution patterns, Mentor / Council vouching, reciprocal federation visibility, and consent at every level. See Guidebook for the Emergence Chapter 3.
Society Member. A Member of Class J holding-in-trust for specific cultural, social, and community domains (a language, a wisdom lineage, a community-of-place, a traditional governance body), with standing to represent those domains in Ecosystem Company decisions. Constituted as a separate constituency from #Living Systems Member in recognition that human-cultural commons and more-than-human commons are distinct and each warrant their own voice.
Sovereign / Sovereignty. The status of any participant who holds their own domain — an individual, organization, network, community, tribe, or nation — and consents to relate, collaborate, or federate without surrendering that domain. The superorganism is constituted of sovereigns.
FSx Individual. An individual constituted as a Fractal Sovereign at the irreducible scale, by signing VIII - The FSx Individual Template as Primary Voice, with at least two Mentors (or a constituted Council of Peers) consenting per Section N. The constitutive instrument by which an individual becomes capable of federating into the Ecosystem economy under III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter §3.3 (the Threshold of Federation). Distinct from the unconstituted flesh-and-blood person.
FSx Individual Template. The Layer VIII constitutive instrument — see VIII - The FSx Individual Template. A scaffold and gateway by which each Sovereign Being constitutes themselves as an FSx Individual, expressing their own Self-Driver, Personal Stewardship Principles, Constituencies of Self, six-capital stewardship at personal scale, relating protocols, conflict transformation, rhythms of practice, and Compatibility Statement, and binding themselves into multi-voice constitution with Mentors / Council of Peers. The irreducible scale of the FSx fractal — the source of consent on which every other layer depends.
Sovereign Being. A human person — the irreducible scale of the FSx fractal. Source of consent. The first scale named at VII - The FSx Organism Template §3 and the constituency of VIII - The FSx Individual Template. A Sovereign Being who has signed Layer VIII with Mentors becomes an FSx Individual.
Special Resolution. A Resolution requiring elevated quorum, every Active Constituency represented, unanimous consent of every sitting Steward, bare majority within each Active Constituency as a bloc, and 75% weighted majority on fallback. See §5.6 of the Charter.
Steward. A Member who has accepted responsibility for some part of the work of the superorganism. Stewardship is a role, not a separate class of person at Layer II. At Layer III, the Stewardship Constituency (Class A) is a constitutionally distinct group with veto authority on Special Resolutions, drawn from individuals meeting the developmental criteria at §4.2 of the Charter.
Steward Assembly. All active Stewards under II - The Stewardship Agreement §10.1. The primary space for collective dialogue at Layer II.
Steward Council. A smaller coordinating group selected from the Assembly under §10.2 of the Stewardship Agreement. Supports the body's functioning.
Stewardship Council. A standing council holding the long-horizon view, the Driver, and the entrenched Stewardship Principles under §10.4 of the Stewardship Agreement.
Stewardship Member. A Member of Class A in the Ecosystem Company (Layer III); an individual meeting the developmental criteria at §4.2, holding unanimous-consent authority on Special Resolutions, non-financial.
Stewardship Principles. The fourteen principles at §16 of the Stewardship Agreement, flowing from the Central Animating Spirit (Love in service of Life and its Source). Each Principle is entrenched at the Entrenched Resolution tier (§11.4) — amendable only by 85% supermajority, bare majority within each Active Constituency, unanimous Steward consent, and a one-year reflection period. The Central Animating Spirit itself is absolutely entrenched and changeable only through dissolution and reconstitution.
Superorganism. The body itself. The (Currently Nameless) Superorganism is the working name; the proper name is to be settled by the Founding Membership during the Founding Phase.
Superorganism Constituency. A reserved Member class for the (Currently Nameless) Superorganism itself, present in every FSx body federated into the ecosystem (Class K at III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter §4.1, Class J at IV - The Ecosystem Resourcing Pool Charter §4.1, Class K at VII - The FSx Organism Template Article 10, parallel provisions in V - The FSx Ecosystem Template and VI - The FSx Guild Template, and Section F-bis at VIII - The FSx Individual Template). Carries the Superorganism Dynamic Stake — by default a 10% Dynamic Governance Stake and a 10% Dynamic Value Stake — through which the body of the whole holds voice and share in every layer of the lattice.
Superorganism Dynamic Stake. The pair of Stakes carried by the Superorganism Constituency in every federated FSx body: a 10% Dynamic Governance Stake (representation in fallback weighted-majority voting and standing to register Objections) plus a 10% Dynamic Value Stake (10% of Capital Gains Dynamics, 10% of Dividend Sharing Dynamics, and the equivalent commitment of net flows at the FSx Individual scale). The 10/10 default is constitutive of federation into the FSx ecosystem; it may be raised by Ordinary Resolution and lowered only by Special Resolution.
Sub-Fund. A constituted FSx instance federated under the Ecosystem Resourcing Pool. Each sub-fund holds a defined Investment Mandate (bioregional, sectoral, purpose/Quest, vintage, or strategic) and contributes to the Cross-Fund Ergodic Pool. Sub-funds receive investor capital and deploy it to federated operating entities at Layer VII. See IV - The Ecosystem Resourcing Pool Charter §7.
Sole-Source Designation. Default provision at IV - The Ecosystem Resourcing Pool Charter §10.2 by which a federated operating entity at Layer VII accepts investment capital exclusively from the Resourcing Pool. Provides one-degree structural separation between investors and operating entities, protecting both directions.
Switchboard. The multi-capital flow coordination mechanism operated by the Ecosystem Company under §7 of the Charter. The economic heart of the federation. Coordinates with the Resourcing Pool per III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter §7.6.1.

Toolkit for the Emergence. The operational templates each Fractal Sovereign needs in order to act — formation packets, governance kits, accounting starters, federation instruments, fractal tools (Issue Log, Request for Guidance Log), and project starters. Sibling companion to the Guidebook and the constitutional package. See Toolkit for the Emergence.
Template (FSx Articles). The constitutional pattern from which federated entities at Layer VII instantiate their own Articles. See VII - The FSx Organism Template. The personal-scale equivalent at Layer VIII is the VIII - The FSx Individual Template.
Threshold of Federation. The structural rule, set out in III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter §3.3, IV - The Ecosystem Resourcing Pool Charter §3.5, and VII - The FSx Organism Template Article 10.6, that only sovereign legal persons constituted as FSx may federate into the Ecosystem economy. The Stewardship Agreement at Layer II remains open to all who consent. The Threshold protects the federation from capture, predation, and enclosure by structurally barring single-voice and owner-controlled entities from entering — without subjective vetting. The pattern is the gateway.
W
Weighted Governance Dynamics. Weighted voting allocations across Member Constituencies for fallback weighted-majority voting at Layer III. See §5.4 of the Charter. Distinct from the one-voice principle of Layer II.
Working from Beyond. A foundational orientation of the body: the deepest discernment in the work is not produced by any individual member, however capable, but emerges when two or more gather honestly and a third thing — beyond the participants — comes into the room. The dojo is the practice space for accessing this beyond-intelligence; safe sparring is the practice; omnispection is the seasonal cadence. Many traditions name this (the Light, the Spirit between us, ancestor councils, sociocratic emergence, Bohmian dialogue); the body treats it as load-bearing.
