I - The Stewardship Agreement

The Private Stewardship Agreement of the superorganism — a voluntary association of sovereigns aligned in service of Life and its Source.

1. Title and Nature of Agreement

This document constitutes the Private Stewardship Agreement of the (Currently Nameless) Superorganism (hereinafter the superorganism), a private voluntary association of sovereigns — individuals, organizations, networks, guilds, communities, and tribes — voluntarily assembling on the basis of our inalienable right and shared moral imperative to participate, as consciously and competently as we are able, in the continual regeneration and reordering of the systems and worlds we are part of.

This Agreement sets forth the foundational principles, relationships, responsibilities, and processes by which the emerging superorganism may operate and evolve.

2. Driver Statement, Context, Intention, and Goals

The superorganism's intentions and goals are derived from the Driver Statement below. The Driver Statement, and the goals and objectives it implies, are continually updated as internal and external context evolve. The core intention and central animating spirit — to act in service of Life and Source, to regenerate all living systems, and to progressively harmonize all generations of life — should not need to change.

2.1 Context

All of Earth's inhabitants are living in a world engulfed in a meta-crisis that is pushing its natural, social, economic, and political systems toward collapse. The root causes of this crisis lie in an interlocking set of systems, institutions, beliefs, and ways of being together aboard Earth that are no longer fit for purpose — where fit for purpose requires, at minimum, the ongoing regeneration of the planet and the progressive harmonization of its inhabitants into a world that works for All.

2.2 Intention

Our intention, borne of absolute and unconditional love, is to unite and cohere our consciousness and activities into some form of higher-order functional unity actually capable of meeting the needs, solving the problems, and accomplishing the imperatives at hand.

Not least of these imperatives is to regenerate the Earth and make the world work for 100% of her inhabitants in the shortest time possible through spontaneous cooperation, without ecological offense or the disadvantage of any.

2.3 Driver Statement

The superorganism exists to unite and cohere the consciousness, capacities, and activities of fractal sovereigns into a higher-order functional unity in service of Life and Source — capable of regenerating Earth, harmonizing her inhabitants into a world that works for All, and supporting the flourishing of all generations of life across all realms and worlds we are part of.

This Driver is the body's first and last reference. Every provision of this Agreement is interpreted in its light and towards its end. Where any provision admits of multiple interpretations, the interpretation most consistent with the Driver shall prevail. The Driver is reproduced standalone in Appendix A - The Driver Statement for liturgical and reference use.

2.4 Goals

Accomplishing the Driver requires a transformation in our planetary approach to governance, economy, society, faith, and relationship — toward a Way of being that enables all generations of life to flourish in harmony.

The superorganism is therefore prototyping a minimum viable new earth operating system, while forging the bridges to carry resources, people, communities, companies, and organizations safely and quickly beyond the collapsing old paradigm and into the emergent new.

To progressively accomplish its primary intention and goal, the superorganism will continually evolve itself while refining and pursuing everything required to serve its uniting Driver.

3. Declaration of Agreement and Voluntary Entry

By entering into this Agreement, each Member affirms that they are joining the superorganism voluntarily, in good faith, and on the basis of ongoing mutual consent.

Each Member acknowledges that participation in the superorganism is based upon free will, voluntary private agreement, and shared intention.

Each Member enters this Agreement in exercise of their inalienable right and spiritual responsibility to associate, communicate, and collaborate with others in service of Life.

By entering this Agreement, each Member affirms their willingness to participate in a collaborative superorganism devoted to the regeneration and responsible co-operation of all realms and worlds of which we are part.

4. Nature and Right of Private Association

The superorganism is emerging through the voluntary association of sovereigns who choose to rightly relate, collaborate, and self-organize on the basis of spiritual coherence and voluntary private agreement.

Each participant enters this Agreement in exercise of their inalienable right and spiritual responsibility to associate, communicate, and collaborate with others in service of ONE and All.

The relationships formed within the superorganism are intended to support shared development, mutual benefit, responsible cooperation, and the progressive realization of our uniting Driver, intention, goals, and values.

While acknowledging our sovereign place among the powers presently influencing Earth, the superorganism is not intended to function as a public authority, nor as a governing body that replaces the sovereignty and autonomy of its participants. Rather, it serves as a framework for coordinated collaboration among those who voluntarily choose to participate.

Nothing in this Agreement is intended to replace, deny, or interfere with the rights and legal responsibilities of any participant within any applicable jurisdiction or domain. Each Member and participating organization remains sovereign and responsible for their own decisions, actions, and interfaces in each relationship, time, and place.

5. Nature of the Sovereign Superorganism

The superorganism is a private voluntary association of sovereigns, explicitly organized around the spiritual, moral, and pragmatic responsibility of all beings to participate as consciously and competently as they are able in the co-governance, co-creation, co-stewardship, and co-operation of the systems and worlds of which we are part.

Its purpose, as set forth in the Driver Statement, is to co-creatively participate in the co-governance, co-stewardship, and co-operation of our lives and our worlds for the good of All.

The superorganism may include any and all types of voluntary participants, including but not limited to:

individual sovereigns
organizations
associations
alliances
networks of individuals or organizations
communities
initiatives
tribes
nations
and any other voluntary participant who consents to this Agreement

Each participating entity remains fully autonomous and self-governing while choosing to collaborate within the shared framework of this Agreement.

This spiritual agreement to associate should not be interpreted as creating a partnership, joint venture, fiduciary duty, agency relationship, binding obligation, etc. Any such agreements must be separately and expressly agreed between the relevant parties. Specific agreements about economic rights, contributions, finances, and operational delivery shall be defined separately, including through the III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter for those participants who choose to federate economically.

Threshold of Federation. Membership in this Agreement is open to any individual sovereign being, organization, network, community, tribe, nation, or other voluntary participant who consents to its terms. Economic federation under III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter further requires that the federating entity be constituted as an FSx — a FairShares Commons-type fractal sovereign legal person with agency independent of its members, with dynamic weighted governance and economic rights — per VII - The FSx Organism Template. An individual federates economically by first constituting an FSx Individual under VIII - The FSx Individual Template. Capital coordination, where investor capital is placed and federated entities receive capital deployment, occurs at IV - The Ecosystem Resourcing Pool Charter. The spiritual association is open; the economy is sovereign-to-sovereign throughout.

6. Stewardship and Representation

A Steward is a Member who accepts responsibility for their participation, conduct, communication, and contribution within the superorganism. Stewardship is a role within the body, not a separate class of person; every Member is invited into stewardship of some part of the work.

A Member may participate in one or more of the following capacities:

6.1 Steward of an Organization

A person representing a project, company, initiative, community, or other organization within the superorganism.

6.2 Steward of a Network

A person representing an association, alliance, federation, tribe, nation, or other network composed of multiple organizations or participants.

6.3 Steward in an Individual Capacity

A person participating directly in support of the superorganism's purpose, initiatives, and development, whether or not they represent a formal organization.

6.4 Representation Requirements

Regardless of the scale or number of entities a Steward represents, each Steward participates as one person and not as a multiplier of voting power or influence.

Representation within the superorganism is based on trust, clarity, and responsibility. Each Steward is expected to represent only what they have the authority and capacity to represent, and to do so with honesty and integrity.

A represented organization or network may designate one active Steward voice at a time, unless otherwise expressly agreed by the superorganism for a specific function that does not alter the one-person, one-voice principle.

6.5 Constituencies of Membership

In addition to the capacities at §§6.1–6.3, the superorganism formally recognizes the following Constituencies of Membership for purposes of representation, integrative decision-making, and stewardship voice. Constituencies are the holofractal counterpart of the Member Constituencies of III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter §4 — same DNA at every scale, with one-voice mechanics at Layer II and weighted-governance mechanics at Layer III.

A Member may participate in more than one Constituency where relationship and qualification permit. Constituencies do not alter the one-voice principle (§7); they organize voices into categories that ensure no single voice or class can capture the whole.

The Layer II Constituencies are:

Stewardship (mirroring Class A of the Charter) — Stewards meeting the developmental Qualifying Criteria of III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter §4.2.
Individual Sovereigns — humans participating directly in their own capacity, not primarily as representatives.
Organizations (mirroring Class B of the Charter) — incorporated or semi-incorporated entities aligned with the Driver.
Networks — alliances, federations, networks of organizations, and similar multi-organization bodies.
Communities and Initiatives — bounded place-based or affinity-based groupings; specific shared undertakings.
Tribes and Nations — sovereign indigenous, ancestral, and political bodies.
Living Systems (mirroring Class G of the Charter) — holders-in-trust for specific natural domains and the more-than-human kin.
Society (mirroring Class J of the Charter) — holders-in-trust for specific cultural, social, and community domains.

A Constituency is Active for the purpose of any Resolution if it has at least one Member in good standing on the date of notice.

7. The One-Voice Principle

Each Steward holds one voice within the superorganism.

This principle ensures equality of participation and prevents concentration of influence at the spiritual-association layer of the body.

One person equals one voice.
Representation of multiple organizations or networks does not create additional voting power.
No entity may hold more than one active Steward voice at a time.

Each Steward agrees to:

Speak clearly and responsibly.
Represent only what they are authorized to represent.
Act in alignment with the Driver and the integrity of the superorganism.

Stewards are expected to resolve internal organizational matters before presenting positions within the superorganism whenever reasonably possible.

The one-voice principle governs Layer II (this Agreement). Economic stake, distribution, and capital governance are addressed at Layer III (see III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter) under a separate, complementary architecture that does not contradict the one-voice principle of this Agreement.

8. Sovereign Responsibility and Accountability

Each Member acknowledges their role as an active participant in shaping both personal and collective outcomes within the superorganism.

Members agree:

To take responsibility for their actions, words, and participation.
To engage in constructive collaboration.
To support a zero blame culture and environment.
To recognize that their contributions influence the shared environment.

The superorganism is grounded in a culture of responsibility, reflection, and growth. Members are encouraged to remain open to feedback, self-awareness, and course correction. The collective may offer reflection or reminders when coherence is lost, in a spirit of support rather than judgment.

9. Collaboration and Contribution

The superorganism operates through mutual contribution and shared participation.

Members agree to:

Contribute knowledge, resources, effort, or insight where reasonably possible.
Support collaborative development of projects and systems.
Engage in good faith and reciprocity, and avoid extractive behavior.

Contribution may take many forms, including: intellectual input; coordination and facilitation; material or financial support; land, infrastructure, or access; relational and network connections; spiritual practice and prayer; presence, witness, and care.

Specific agreements related to financial participation, project stewardship, revenue sharing, intellectual property, and economic federation shall be defined through III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter and through the Federation Agreements signed thereunder. This Agreement (Layer II) does not assign economic entitlement beyond what is expressly agreed in those instruments.

10. Governance Structure

The superorganism operates through a distributed stewardship governance model designed to balance coordination, participation, and autonomy. Governance is not centralized, but organized through the following bodies:

10.1 Steward Assembly

The Steward Assembly consists of all active Stewards.

Role:

Primary space for collective dialogue.
Participation in major decisions.
Expression of Steward voices.

Each Steward participates equally under the one-voice principle.

10.2 Steward Councils

The Steward Council is a smaller group selected from the Assembly.

Role:

Support coordination of the superorganism.
Facilitate communication and continuity.
Act in time-sensitive situations within agreed scope.

The Council does not override the Assembly on major decisions; it supports the functioning of the system.

10.3 Mediation Councils

Mediation Councils are formed as needed to support conflict resolution.

Role:

Provide neutral facilitation.
Support fair and balanced outcomes.
Help maintain the integrity of relationships.

Members of a Mediation Council should not be directly involved in the conflict they are supporting.

10.4 Stewardship Council (Long-Horizon)

A standing council holding the long-horizon view of the superorganism, the Driver Statement, the Stewardship Principles, and the voice of future generations and the more-than-human world. The Stewardship Council is convened during the Founding Phase and its composition, term, and authority will be confirmed at the First Annual General Meeting. Its specific role includes voicing concern when proposed actions appear to contradict the entrenched provisions, as a structural reminder available to the Assembly.

11. Decision-Making Processes

The superorganism uses flexible decision-making methods depending on context and need. In general, decisions are made on the basis of proposals and consent with a bias towards "good enough for now safe enough to try" and tightly coupled discernment, action, learning, and improvement.

11.1 Proposal Process

Any Steward may bring forward a proposal. A proposal should aim to include: clear intention, scope, impact, and requested action.

11.2 Review and Dialogue

Proposals are shared with relevant Stewards or the Assembly. Discussion is encouraged to clarify understanding, refine proposals, and address concerns.

11.3 Decision Methods

The superorganism may use:

Consensus (preferred): all voices are heard until no major objections remain.
Integrative Decision-Making (IDM) / Consent: proposals move through Agree / Have Concerns / Have Objections rounds; an Objection must be integrated into a revised proposal before the decision proceeds. A decision is finalized when no unresolved Objection remains. IDM is the operational form of consent governance at every scale of the FSx pattern.
Majority (fallback only): used when IDM is exhausted without resolution. The fallback ballot at Layer II is one-voice — each Member has one vote, regardless of Constituency or scale of representation — at the threshold specified by the Resolution tier (§11.4).

11.4 Resolution Tiers

The superorganism uses five tiers of Resolution, each appropriate to the weight of the matter being decided. All tiers begin with IDM (§11.3) and only invoke the one-voice fallback ballot when IDM is exhausted. The tiers mirror those at III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter §5.6, IV - The Ecosystem Resourcing Pool Charter §5.5, and VII - The FSx Organism Template Article 25, with one-voice mechanics in place of weighted-governance mechanics.

Ordinary Resolution

For day-to-day operational matters.

IDM consent across all Active Constituencies (§6.5); integrative outcome (no unresolved Objection); and
Where IDM fallback applies: bare majority of Members voting on a one-voice basis.

Special Resolution

For substantive changes to the Articles or operations not touching the entrenched provisions.

IDM consent across all Active Constituencies; and
Bare majority within each Active Constituency on a one-voice basis (no Constituency may be steamrolled); and
Unanimous consent of every sitting Steward; and
Where IDM fallback applies: 75% one-voice supermajority of Members voting.

Entrenched Resolution

For amendment of provisions entrenched at this tier (see §16 and §22.6) — the wording of the Driver Statement, each Stewardship Principle individually, and the detailed provisions of the Asset Lock at III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter §10.2 (other than the absolutely entrenched no-extraction principle).

IDM consent across all Active Constituencies; and
Bare majority within each Active Constituency on a one-voice basis; and
Unanimous consent of every sitting Steward; and
A one-year reflection period between the formal proposal and the ratifying vote, during which the proposal is circulated to all Members, the Stewardship Council, and any external counsel the Stewards deem appropriate; and
Where IDM fallback applies: 85% one-voice supermajority of Members voting.

The reflection period is the structural defense against entrenched changes made in panic or under coercion. It cannot be shortened by any other Resolution.

Constituency Resolution

For matters internal to a single Constituency. The affected Constituency meets separately, applies IDM within itself, and resolves on Constituency-internal matters (e.g., Constituency Standing Orders, internal coordination, designation of representatives). On matters affecting the whole superorganism, a Constituency Resolution becomes a formal proposal to the Steward Assembly.

Emergency Resolution

For genuinely time-sensitive operational matters per §11.6 (Rapid Decisions). Emergency Resolutions may not touch matters reserved for Special or Entrenched Resolution unless ratified by the appropriate tier within ninety (90) days.

11.5 Finalization

Once a decision is reached through an agreed process, it becomes the recognized position of the superorganism as a whole, and Members agree to respect and uphold the outcome in good faith.

11.6 Rapid Decisions

In time-sensitive situations, the Steward Council may act by Emergency Resolution, the Assembly is informed as soon as reasonably possible, and decisions are reviewed at the next gathering. Emergency Resolutions touching entrenched provisions require unanimous Steward consent and must be ratified at the next General Meeting under the appropriate tier.

11.7 The Absolute Root

Three commitments are absolutely entrenched and cannot be changed by any Resolution available under this Agreement, including Entrenched Resolution. They can only be changed through dissolution and reconstitution of the superorganism under a different Agreement:

The spirit of the Driver Statement — Service to Life and Source. The wording of the Driver may be refined by Entrenched Resolution; its core commitment may not.
The Asset Lock — the no-extraction principle: at no point may capital contributors, Members, or officers receive distributions exceeding return of invested principal or honest service compensation. Detailed Asset Lock provisions at III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter §10.2 may be refined by Entrenched Resolution; the no-extraction principle may not.
Voluntariness — the right of every Member to enter only by free consent and to exit at any time without penalty. Detailed exit terms may be refined by Special Resolution; the right itself may not be removed.

These three commitments are the root that makes the superorganism the body it is. To change them would constitute the formation of a different body.

12. Confidentiality, Integrity, and Ethical Use

Members agree to uphold a culture of trust, respect, and responsible use of shared information.

12.1 Confidentiality

Members agree to respect the privacy of participants, not disclose sensitive or non-public information without consent, and use discretion when sharing knowledge externally.

12.2 Integrity of Conduct

Members agree to act in good faith, avoid misrepresentation, communicate honestly, and respect the intentions of the superorganism and its participants.

12.3 Ethical Use of Shared Knowledge and Creations

Knowledge, systems, materials, and insights shared within the superorganism are contributed for the benefit of the collective, the planet, and aligned initiatives.

Members agree not to:

Extract or copy shared materials for personal gain in a way that conflicts with the superorganism.
Use shared knowledge in ways that harm other participants.
Repurpose collective work in direct competition without transparency and alignment.

Independent use of shared knowledge should be aligned with the spirit of collaboration, respectful of contributors, and non-harmful to the network. Where uncertainty exists, Members agree to seek clarity, communicate openly, and request consent where appropriate.

12.4 Transparency of Capacity

Members recognize that personal or organizational circumstances may affect participation. When such circumstances impact a Member's ability to contribute, represent clearly, or fulfill responsibilities, the Member agrees to communicate this transparently to the extent appropriate, while respecting personal and organizational privacy.

13. Conflict Transformation and Private Dispute Process

The superorganism recognizes that conflict may arise as part of collaboration and growth. Members agree to approach conflict with the intention of understanding, resolution, and the preservation of relationships where possible.

13.1 Direct Resolution

Parties involved in a conflict agree first to attempt resolution through direct communication, respectful dialogue, and willingness to listen and clarify.

13.2 Mediated Support

If direct resolution is not sufficient, neutral Steward(s) may be invited to facilitate. Mediation aims to support clarity, fairness, and mutual understanding.

13.3 Council Review

If needed, the matter may be brought to a Mediation Council. The Council may review the situation, hear perspectives, and propose a path toward resolution.

13.4 Binding Arbitration (Internal)

In the event the Mediation Council cannot discern a path towards resolution agreeable by all parties, the parties are encouraged to agree to an internal binding arbitration by a mutually respected Steward or council of Stewards.

13.5 Private Dispute Resolution and Binding Arbitration (Independent)

(a) Intent. The intention of this section is to resolve disputes constructively, reduce harm and escalation, preserve the integrity of right relationships throughout the superorganism, and protect the superorganism's spiritual character and its Members from the cost, delay, publicity, and adversarial dynamics of external judicial process.

(b) Exclusive Process. Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to this Agreement, the superorganism or any Member's participation therein (a Dispute) shall be resolved exclusively through, in order:

Direct resolution under §13.1;
Mediated support under §13.2;
Mediation Council review under §13.3; and
If the Dispute is not resolved within ninety (90) days of written notice of the Dispute (or such longer period as the parties agree in writing), final and binding arbitration administered by a recognized independent arbitral institution selected by mutual agreement of the parties — or, failing agreement, designated by the Steward Council from a published list of approved institutions. The arbitral decision shall be final and binding.

(c) Ecclesiastical Reserve. Disputes concerning matters of internal governance, membership, or interpretation of questions of meaning, conscience, or intent are reserved for the superorganism's internal ecclesiastical processes. Such matters are not lawfully subject to arbitration or review by any external court or tribunal, consistent with applicable national, international, and universal law respecting the sovereignty and autonomy of spiritual associations.

(d) Waiver of External Process. Appealing primarily to the highest spiritual intention of this voluntary Agreement, and secondarily to the highest maximum extent permitted by applicable law, each Member waives the right to initiate any action against any other Member, or against the superorganism as a whole, in any court of law or other external juridical forum in respect of any Dispute.

(e) Class Action Waiver. Members agree that all Disputes shall be resolved on an individual basis and not as part of any class, collective, or representative action.

(f) Costs. Each party shall bear its own costs of resolution under §§13.1–13.4. The costs of arbitration shall be allocated as the arbitrator(s) determine, taking into account the parties' relative resources and the merits of the claims and defenses.

(g) Choice of Law and Severability. The arbitration agreement shall be governed by the law of the seat of arbitration. The substantive law applicable to a Dispute shall be determined by the arbitrator(s) by reference to the jurisdiction with the most significant relationship to the matter. If any provision of this Agreement is held unenforceable in a particular forum, the remainder shall continue in full force and effect; the unenforceable provision shall be reformed only to the extent necessary to make it enforceable in a given jurisdiction.

13.6 Resolution Outcome

Once a resolution is reached through agreed processes, Members agree to respect the outcome, and the superorganism may recognize the resolution as the shared position moving forward.

14. Universal Alignment and Local Responsibility

The superorganism is a network of sovereigns collaborating across regions, cultures, and systems. It operates in alignment with widely recognized principles such as: voluntary cooperation, freedom of association, and respect for the dignity of all life.

14.1 No Separate Jurisdiction

The superorganism does not establish or claim an independent legal jurisdiction at this point and may choose to establish one at a later stage by an agreed decision process under §11. The superorganism may offer trusted jurisdictions for inclusion in private contract agreements between Members.

14.2 Local Responsibility

Each Member remains responsible for understanding applicable laws, complying with local regulations, and choosing appropriate structures within any legal jurisdictions they choose to participate in.

14.3 Cross-Border Collaboration

The superorganism supports sharing knowledge across regions, prototyping local models, adapting shared models to local contexts, and collaboration without imposing uniform legal structures.

15. Natural Principles and Stewardship of Life and Land

The superorganism recognizes that human systems exist within broader living systems, including the Earth and all of her subsystems.

Members acknowledge principles of responsibility, reciprocity, regenerativity, respect for life, and care for air, water, land and living systems. To the greatest extent possible, all Members and the superorganism as a whole commit to becoming entirely Life affirming in all we do.

These principles serve as shared ethical and practical foundations in the development of initiatives, communities, and systems within the superorganism. They guide intention and design, inform decision-making, and support regenerative outcomes.

16. The Central Animating Spirit and Stewardship Principles

The Central Animating Spirit of the superorganism is Love in service of Life and its Source.

This spirit, and the Stewardship Principles that flow from it, are protected by tiered entrenchment under §11.4 and §11.7:

The Central Animating Spirit itself — Love in service of Life and its Source — together with the absolute commitments at §11.7 (the spirit of the Driver, the no-extraction Asset Lock principle, the right of voluntary entry and exit) are absolutely entrenched. No decision under any method available in this Agreement may contravene them. They may be changed only through dissolution and reconstitution of the superorganism under a different Agreement.
The Stewardship Principles below, individually, are entrenched at the Entrenched Resolution tier (§11.4). They may be amended, refined, or extended only by Entrenched Resolution — requiring 85% one-voice supermajority on fallback, bare majority within each Active Constituency, unanimous consent of every sitting Steward, and a one-year reflection period between proposal and ratification. No Ordinary or Special Resolution may contravene them.

The principles, in their current form:

Service to Life. The superorganism acts in service of the broader universal living system, of which Earth is a living body and humanity is a participant species.
Sovereignty preserved. The superorganism preserves the sovereignty of every Member entity and every Member individual in their own domain.
Distributed authority. Governance authority is distributed across Members and bodies such that no single individual, class, faction, or coalition can capture the whole.
Multi-capital flourishing. Decisions account for and tend all forms of capital — at least natural, individual, social, intellectual, manufactured, and financial — and do not permit financial optimization at the expense of the others.
Purpose lock. The superorganism commits its assets and energies to the pursuit of its Driver. On dissolution, assets flow to other entities in service of the same purpose. (See also the Asset Lock in III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter.)
Federation and stewardship, not ownership. The superorganism does not own its Members or exercise ownership over Member entities. Federation is a relationship of voluntary reciprocal commitment, stewardship, and influence; not of ownership or control.
Transparency. The superorganism maintains open, transparent, auditable operations. All flows, all contributions to the Commons, and all decisions of its governance bodies are auditable by any Member.
Lifelong developmental wellbeing. The superorganism commits to the lifelong developmental wellbeing of its Members and supports the practices, traditions, and infrastructures by which Members grow in capacity to hold this sacred work.
Unity and uniqueness. The superorganism honors the simultaneous oneness of the whole and the uniqueness of each part. Each scale of the body — individual, circle, organization, community, guild, bioregion, planetary — is both sovereign in its own domain and a member of the next larger whole.
Voice of the Life. The superorganism gives material voice to nonhuman Life and those who cannot speak for themselves through dedicated Stewardship Council standing, so that all current and future generations of Life are represented in the decisions that affect them.
Knowledge Commons. Intellectual contributions made through the superorganism are released to a shared Knowledge Commons. Enclosure is not permitted.
Nonviolence. The superorganism commits to nonviolence in its relations with other sovereign entities to the greatest extent possible, while asserting its own right to Life, sovereignty, and the sovereignty of its Members through all legal, institutional, moral, cultural, and spiritual means.
Succession. The Members of the superorganism recognize their own impermanence and commit to proactive succession that preserves its Central Animating Spirit and Driver, whether through continued operation, merger, higher order federation, or dissolution into compatible successor bodies.
Sovereignty of the Whole. Any Agreement that violates the inalienable sovereignty of the superorganism is explicitly prohibited and invalidated.

17. Entry and Onboarding

Entry into the superorganism occurs through:

Invitation, referral, or recognition by existing Members.
Sponsorship by an existing Member.
Agreement to this document and its companion III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter where economic federation is sought.
An onboarding contribution as mutually agreed.
Confirmation through an agreed decision process under §11.

To maintain integrity and trust, all incoming Members must be personally sponsored by someone known and trusted within the superorganism.

17.1 Onboarding Process

The superorganism shall establish and continuously improve onboarding functions and processes to introduce new Members, provide context and expectations, and support integration and alignment.

17.2 Recognition of Participation

New Members are recognized through mutual acknowledgment, written agreement (signature of this document), and inclusion in communication and collaboration spaces.

18. Participation Expectations

Participation in the superorganism is based on active and responsible engagement. Members are expected to:

Actively contribute their unique gifts where reasonably possible.
Communicate clearly.
Act in good faith.
Respect agreements, processes, and cultural norms.

When a Member's capacity to keep commitments is impacted by personal circumstances, internal organizational challenges, or conflicting responsibilities, they agree to communicate this promptly and transparently. This supports trust, realistic expectations, and effective collaboration, while ensuring that the functioning and commitments of the superorgamism as a whole are not interrupted.

19. Exit and Withdrawal

A Member or organization may exit the superorganism at any time.

19.1 Voluntary Exit

Exit may occur through written notice or verbal communication acknowledged by the network. No penalty is imposed for choosing to leave.

19.2 Effects of Exit

Upon exit, participation in superorganism activities ceases, access to shared systems and commons is removed, and representation within the superorganism ends.

19.3 Ongoing Obligations

After exit, the departing Member agrees to honor any existing agreements entered into with other participants, respect the confidentiality of information obtained during participation, and avoid misuse of shared knowledge or materials.

19.4 Good-Faith Transition

Where possible, a departing Member is encouraged to communicate clearly about their departure and support a smooth transition of responsibilities.

19.5 Economic Federation Exit

Where the departing Member has federated economically under III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter, the exit terms of that Charter and the relevant Federation Agreement also apply.

20. Review, Suspension, Removal, and Readmission

Participation in the superorganism requires ongoing mutual consent. The superorganism may review a Member's participation when concerns arise.

20.1 Grounds for Review

Review may occur in cases of:

Violation of this Agreement.
Actions causing harm to other participants, the network, or Life.
Misuse of shared knowledge or resources.
Refusal to engage in the conflict-transformation process under §13.
Activity contradicting or hindering progress towards the Driver Statement or Stewardship Principles.
Inability to obtain the ongoing Sponsorship of another Member.

20.2 Suspension

Temporary suspension may be applied to prevent further harm, allow time for resolution, or clarify circumstances.

20.3 Removal

Removal may occur when issues remain unresolved, harm continues, or trust is significantly broken.

20.4 Process

Removal should involve multiple Stewards, be conducted fairly and reasonably, and allow the affected Member opportunity to reflect and respond where appropriate.

20.5 Outcome

Upon removal, participation in the superorganism ends, access to shared systems is revoked, and confidentiality and ethical-use obligations remain in effect.

20.6 Readmission

To gain reentry to the superorganism after voluntary or involuntary removal, sponsorship by two Members is required for second entry, and sponsorship by three Members is required for third entry. Readmission after a third removal is rare and must be approved by the Stewardship Council.

21. Relationship to the Ecosystem Holding Charter (Layer III)

This Agreement constitutes the Layer II spiritual association of the superorganism. It does not, of itself, hold property, operate economic mechanisms, or distribute capital.

The superorganism's economic activity — federation of value flows, the Switchboard, six-capital accounting, capital gains, dividend share, asset lock, investor terms — is constituted under a separate, complementary instrument: III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter. Members of this Agreement may, but are not required to, federate economically under that Charter. Federation under Layer III creates additional rights and responsibilities, and does not alter, override, or supersede this Agreement.

The two layers govern different domains. In any apparent conflict between them, the Driver Statement (§2.3) and the Stewardship Principles (§16) of this Agreement govern the spirit; the operational detail is reconciled by the relevant decision body under §11.

22. Evolution and Amendment of the Agreement

This Agreement is intended to serve as a stable foundation while allowing for thoughtful evolution over time.

22.1 Living Framework

The superorganism recognizes that its systems, structures, and agreements will evolve as experience grows, new insights emerge, internal and external contexts change, and practical needs arise. Accordingly, this Agreement should be continually refined to better support its purpose and participants — within the bounds of the entrenched provisions.

22.2 Proposal of Amendments

Any Steward may propose an amendment to this Agreement. Proposals should include the intention of the change, the section affected, and the proposed revision.

22.3 Review and Adoption

Amendments are shared with the Steward Assembly, reviewed through dialogue, and refined where needed. Adoption may occur through consensus, consent, or an agreed decision process under §11.

22.4 Continuity

Until an amendment is formally adopted, the current Agreement remains in effect. Once adopted, the updated version becomes the active Agreement.

22.5 Participation and Acceptance

Continued participation in the superorganism indicates awareness of updates and willingness to operate within the evolving Agreement. Members are encouraged to remain actively informed and engaged in this process.

22.6 Tiered Entrenchment

This Agreement protects its foundational commitments through tiered entrenchment as set out in §11.4 and §11.7:

Absolutely entrenched (changeable only through dissolution and reconstitution): the Central Animating Spirit (§16), the spirit of the Driver Statement (§2.3), the no-extraction principle of the Asset Lock at III - The Ecosystem Holding Charter §10.2, and the right of voluntary entry and exit.
Entrenched at the Entrenched Resolution tier (§11.4): the wording of the Driver Statement; each Stewardship Principle (§16) individually; and the detailed provisions of the Asset Lock other than the absolutely entrenched no-extraction principle.
Special Resolution required for: substantive amendments to other provisions of this Agreement.
Ordinary Resolution sufficient for: operational matters and Standards adoption.

Amendment of any provision must follow the Resolution tier specified for that provision; a lower tier cannot override a higher.

23. Acknowledgment and Agreement

By entering into this Agreement, each Member affirms that:

They have read and understood the contents of this document.
They are participating voluntarily and in good faith.
They accept the responsibilities, principles, and processes described herein.
They intend to act with integrity, clarity, and respect within the superorganism.

Each Member further acknowledges:

Their role as a responsible participant in a shared system.
Their contribution to the collective development of the superorganism.
Their openness to learning, collaboration, feedback, and growth.

23.1 Spirit of the Agreement

This Agreement is not only a structural document but a reflection of shared intention. It is entered into with the understanding that trust is built through action, alignment is maintained through communication and collaboration, and responsibility is held individually and collectively.

The strength of the superorganism depends on the strength, integrity, and participation of its Members.
