Light, and Darkness as privation

Light is what reveals. Darkness is not a rival power but an absence — which is why it flees rather than fights.

Light is the illuminating presence by which anything is seen, known, or found. In its deepest register it is paired with the Logos: to walk toward Truth is to walk toward Light, and the progressive illumination of what is actually there is the same movement as the progressive uncovering of Reality's true pattern (Revelation).

The claim that does the most work is the one about darkness. Darkness is privation — the absence of illumination — not a second power contending with the first. Nothing must be done to darkness; something must be brought. This is why the canon's account of how the new world arrives is occupation rather than combat (Inbreaking And Displacing), why evil is read as deprivation and distortion rather than as a rival creator (Evil · Distortion), and why a player who has understood it stops organising their life around an enemy.

Three teachings carry it into practice. Walk by the Light you have — no one is given the whole path illuminated; the Light available reveals the next stone, and taking that step brings the next into view. Waiting for full clarity is a way of standing still. Carry Light inward — there is a light within a being stronger than what surrounds it, and cultivation strengthens it until the person becomes a bearer, someone whose arrival makes a room more visible to itself (Frequency · Divine Spark). Emerging into Light is blinding at first — one who leaves The Caves cannot see clearly straight away; disorientation on first illumination is adjustment, not error, and patience with new seers, and with one's own newly-seeing self, is part of the craft.

And Light multiplies by being given. A flame loses nothing by lighting another (Pass The Flame).
