Accordance with Reality as it actually is — approached forever, possessed never.

Truth is a characteristic of Ultimate Reality, and the standard that Wisdom, knowledge, and Goodness are measured against. A culture that loves, seeks, and speaks it becomes honest, humble, open, and able to learn; a culture that does not becomes unable to correct itself, which is the failure mode that precedes every other.

Absolute Truth remains eternally beyond our grasp. That is not a concession but the operative fact, and the whole convention of Current Best Understanding follows from it: state what you presently hold, hold it as improvable, and keep improving the quality of the understanding and its expression. This is what makes Navigating Towards Truth a practice rather than a destination, and what makes We Do Not Know a sentence anyone can say without losing standing.

Truth is load-bearing in three places at once. It is the navigation target, so a body without it cannot steer. It is a cardinal value, so a body that trades it away for comfort loses the ability to see the harm it is doing. And it is the condition of shared reality: two sovereign parties can only cooperate if they can agree what is so, which is why Transparency and The Record are structural and not merely virtuous.

Lived, Truth is a verb — truth-seeking, truth-speaking, truth-receiving. Its subtlest corruption is truth weaponised: accuracy deployed without Love, to wound rather than to illuminate. When honesty and warmth seem to fight, honesty wins and warmth carries it; they are not rivals. In a Circle, the practice is to weave perspectives rather than defend positions, to welcome correction as a gift, and to follow the Truth no matter where it leads.
