Meta Game

The game of games: the highest, most universal game, which by definition contains and orders every other — the frame in which a person's own game can be stacked up and aligned with something big enough to unite everyone.

Meta here points at the eternal, universal, ultimate, self-referential, highest-order conception of an idea. So the Meta Game is not one more game competing for players. It is whatever game all the true games turn out to be playing, and it is ineffable at the top — the place where the category rejoins the Source (Meta, ØNE, Total Nested Holarchy Of Sovereignties).

Its use is practical, and it is the reason the idea exists: it gives people a frame in which to align their own game with everyone else's without anyone having to abandon theirs. A thousand other efforts are being developed in the same spirit toward the same end. The move is not to pick one and make the rest subordinate. It is to make the whole set succeed (Stacking Up And Aligning, Meta Unity of Meta Diversity, Coordinate · Facilitate · Empower).

One requirement guards it, and it is absolute: sovereignty. No element of this may be subordinated to anything other than the ØNE and the All. The moment any part is subordinated to some other game or system, the whole logic it rests on fails — because every element must relate directly back to the deepest level, and not through an intermediary (Sovereignty, Subsidiarity, The instance law).

And it carries its own name as a caution. Because the absolute Meta Game is ineffable and unowned, what any body actually plays is one named instance of it, kept distinct from the Absolute so that nobody mistakes the instance for the thing (Do Not Concretize the Absolute, LIØNSBERG Is A Prototype, Not The Eternal Essence, The Great Game).

It is also where the pair of facings around every promise is actually written down — the one who gives the word and the one who depends on it, at the scale of a whole package of work (Committor, Committee, Networks of Commitments).
