One Book · One Operating System · One Big Room

How any holon gets a working top: one book that says what it is and how it works, one way of operating, and one room where it meets itself — reaching up to what contains it, down to what it contains, and out to its neighbours.

It is a teaching rather than a rule, and it is stated as a memetic — a short form meant to be carried and reapplied. A body that has these three at its top has established higher-order functional unity: it can act as one without anyone standing over it (Higher Order Functional Unity, Holon, Holarchy).

One Book. The holon's own — not a copy of anyone else's. It carries that body's way, its Field of Agreements, and the basic pieces of the toolkit it actually uses; whose use teaches the body how to operate its own part of the larger whole without being told (The Kit, The LIØNSBERG Toolkit, Our Core Ways, Charter).

One Operating System. One way of working rather than several coexisting in different corners — which is what most bodies actually have, and why their left hand cannot predict their right (The LIØNSBERG Operating System, Everything Is A Process, Minimum standards of interoperability).

One Big Room. One place where the whole meets itself and the work is visible to everyone doing it, rather than coordination happening in the gaps between meetings nobody attended (The Big Room, The Core Group and the Big Room, Transparency).

The three directions are the point. Up, to whatever this body is part of. Down, to the bodies inside it. Out, to its neighbours — and the outward reach is the one that is usually missing, which is why bodies that are internally well-ordered still cannot cooperate with the one next door (Supercell, Cell of Cells, Federation, Interoperability, Omniharmonic).

Written this way, it is portable. A household, a Circle, a cooperative, a locality — each makes its own three, and nothing has to be granted from above for it to work (Subsidiarity, Instantiation, One tool, every scale, Establishing Your Cellular Operating System and Way).
