Minimum standards of interoperability
Meet seven small things and any group can read, and be read by, any other — while running entirely on its own, under its own name, in its own culture.
The seven: The same card shape at every level, the upper half held in common and the lower half your own · the same week and the same turnings, kept by the sun · the same words on line one, translated freely, the lines kept in order · An address for every Player and every line · the Record's numbers meaning the same thing everywhere — kept as a share of made, flames, stories, the Offering · proposals as the way shared things change, at a turning, by edition · and A word given is a word kept, or a gap learned from, without blame. Use the cards as they are given and they are already met.
They are load-bearing because they are the whole of what a body gives up in order to be part of one whole. Not its name, its culture, its humour, its decisions or its money — seven conventions of form. That is the smallest price anyone has found for ten million people not building ten million incompatible things, and it is deliberately small enough that no centre is needed to enforce it: a group either meets them and can federate, or does not and still runs fine alone.
Beneath the seven stands an older floor, written before them and still held: Love ØNE, love one another, love All; help one another and do no harm; resources applied only to value-producing, aligned Quests that stack up to throughput of the Goal. The seven are the form; the floor is the spirit, and where a group keeps the form without the floor the standards have been met and the point has been missed.
