Teleology
The study of purpose, direction, and the intended end of beings and systems — the study of The Goal.
Teleology is the claim that things are for something, and the inquiry into what. In this Field it is not an open question answered by preference: The Goal is received rather than invented — ØNE · Creator's Intent · Heaven On Earth · for All · forever — and the Pillar's fifth thesis states the cosmic form of it, that the purpose of existence is the ultimate reunion of all things through the free unfolding of Spirit and Consciousness toward its Divine Origin.
It is load-bearing because direction is what makes measurement possible. Value is defined as Throughput of the Goal; Design To The Goal constrains all design by the Goal rather than by budget or politics; One Purpose Above All is the first of the Twelve Irreducible Elements — the Purpose governs, leaders serve. Every one of those instruments is incoherent without a telos. A system with excellent process and no end optimises its own motion.
It also does protective work. Constitutional Protection Of Purpose — asset locks and anti-enclosure mechanisms — exists because a purpose that can be amended away or bought will be. Ideological Capture is named among the Anti-Patterns as the disease of a purpose quietly replaced. The total nested holarchy of goals is the structural form: every smaller aim decomposes from the larger one, so a Cell's Quest can be checked against the whole.
The canon holds the end without pretending to have arrived: Eschatology and Eschaton name the culmination, The Eternal Divine Play refuses to make it a stopping point, and Heaven On Earth is explicitly progressive — here and now, a little more each week.
