The Seven Virtues When It's All On The Line

Seven pairs for moments of great consequence — each pairing a capacity with the counterweight that keeps it from running away.

Presence and Poise. Being fully in the moment, responding from centre — the difference between being swept along and standing steady in it. Presence alone is absorption; poise alone is detachment (Composure Under Threat, Silence And Stillness As The Ground).

Resolve and Patience. Knowing when to act decisively and when to wait is a dance of discernment; sometimes the boldest act is to pause, and sometimes the moment must be seized with both hands (Kairos, Restraint As The Refusal To Act).
