The Playbook Chart
The map of which Patterns compose which Plays — the forward facing of the two-layer architecture.
The Chart lists every Play beside the Patterns it invokes. Its reverse facing — each Pattern beside the Plays that call it — is held in The LIØNSBERG Pattern Language, so that a Pattern Card opens onto the operational moments it must serve. Together the two facings are not two documents but one architecture read from both directions, and as Plays and Patterns mature, both facings mature with them.
It is load-bearing because it is how the corpus is kept honest. Read down a column and you can see whether a Pattern is actually used anywhere; read across a row and you can see whether a Play rests on articulated wisdom or on nothing. A Play whose Patterns are all unwritten is a name; a Pattern that no Play invokes is a candidate for the backlog, which is what Patterns Pending Articulation exists to hold.
How it is used. Find the moment you are in, take the Play, and follow its Patterns for the depth. When you improve a Play through The LIØNSBERG Workshop, update the row. When a new Pattern enters the Language, add it where it belongs and let the Plays that should invoke it say so. Treat gaps in the Chart as information rather than embarrassment: naming the edge of the Language is part of its topology, which is what Gaps Not Yet Closed says.
