Patterns Pending Articulation
The honest register of what is named and not yet written — the backlog held in the open, where it can be read as a debt rather than mistaken for a library.
The proportions are worth stating plainly. About fifty-five Pattern Cards are drafted. Roughly five hundred and seventy-five further names sit in a curated backlog, and a two-wave survey of the corpus surfaced several thousand more candidates — a grand total in the region of five thousand four hundred names and candidates, awaiting synthesis and deduplication.
Most of that number is not missing wisdom; it is the same wisdom articulated many times from many vantages. The work that reduces it is the work of the Language itself: folding applications into the general Pattern they apply (General Pattern, Specific Application), separating containers from Patterns (Patterns And Containers), and choosing one working name per wisdom with the rest honored as aliases (Word Tools). Deduplication is not tidying; it is how the underlying unity becomes visible.
Some of the backlog is a warning rather than a promise. A large sweep of verb-coinages — several hundred names formed by turning activities into gerunds — has no card, no inbound link, and no use outside its own list. Names are cheap; notes are not. A name with nothing behind it is an The Incipient Link that has not been paid, and a list of them can look like a Language while transmitting nothing.
Holding the register in the open is itself a discipline. A reader can tell what is built from what is only named, a writer can see where the next work is, and the Language cannot quietly mistake its index for its substance. The register is read together with Gaps Not Yet Closed, which names the territory the corpus has not reached at all.
