The TEA Card

A player's daily card of time, energy, and attention — the minutes the day asked and the minutes given, energy at morning and at evening, what was kept and what was declined — rolled up each week.

Time, energy, and attention are the three things a person actually spends, and the only three. Money is downstream of them; so is every commitment anyone makes. Yet almost nobody knows where theirs went, because nothing records it at the grain where it is spent — the day.

The card is that record, and it is deliberately small enough to fill in twice. The minutes the day asked and the minutes given, by kind — which is not a timesheet but a comparison: what arrived wanting your life, against what you actually handed over. Energy at morning and at evening, two readings, because energy is a physical fact with a shape across a day and is the first thing a plan built only on hours gets wrong (Day shape · Rest And Regeneration). Where attention went — the scarcest of the three and the one nobody budgets (Focused Attention As Discipline). And what was kept and what was declined — the day's commitments, both halves, because a declined ask is a real and honourable outcome and an unrecorded one becomes a quiet debt (The states of a commitment · A word given is a word kept).

Rolled up weekly at the Heartbeat, it shows a player how they actually play, as against how they believe they play — which is the only reason to keep it. It is a mirror, not a report to anyone; the sovereignty of the person over their own card is the whole condition of its honesty (Honesty about time · Minutes are the one unit).

It carries the same anatomy as every other card (Card Types), and it is the ledger that a body's accounting of given time, energy, and attention would draw on (TimeEnergy · Level Of Commitment).
