TimeEnergy
The irreducible currency of embodied existence — each being's time, energy, and attention, the capacity to act, serve, co-create, and transform reality.
Everything anyone has ever contributed was paid for in this. Money is a claim on someone else's TimeEnergy; TimeEnergy is the thing itself, and it cannot be created, stored, or borrowed. A day spent is gone. This is why it is called irreducible: below it there is nothing further to exchange, and above it every other currency is a convention.
In play the word usually arrives as TEA — time, energy, and attention — and it names a card a player keeps: what the day asked, what was given, energy at morning and evening, what was kept and what was declined. Three things about that card carry the whole discipline. It is the player's own: nothing on it goes anywhere without their word. It is written, not metered: an entry is the person's own account once a week, as remembered, never a surveillance trace. And it is confirmed at the table, at The Turn, because a contribution that no one recognized cannot be valued, and one that was recognized cannot later be denied.
TEA is the input from which LUV is calculated, through the TEA Bank — a proposal under test, not settled machinery. The canon's own caution stands against it and belongs on the page: accounting for time on task is a known failure mode, and the illusion of time imprisons. So the instrument exists to make provisioning honest, not to make anyone watched; if it imprisons, it goes. The floor beneath it is older and simpler — The Offering at the table, where a person puts in whatever is real for them, hours as readily as money, and nobody sets the amount.
The Pledge a player makes at Initiation is said in this currency too: the time, energy, attention, and contribution they will give for the season ahead. Freely chosen, revisable at the turning, and never inferred.
