Cosmos
The ordered universe as a manifestation of Logos — order, not merely extent.
Cosmos is the word for what the Logos has made intelligible. Where Universe names the total manifest order and Creation names the unfolding, Cosmos names the ordering: a world with structure, direction, and harmony rather than a heap of matter. The canon's second thesis in this Pillar states it plainly — the Cosmos is a sacred story, a living and intelligible expression of the Divine, structured by purpose and pattern.
It is load-bearing in two directions. Downward, it is the top of the ladder of scales: the Pattern Language runs from the Circle through the neighbourhood, community, bioregion, The Planet, The Star System and out to the Cosmos, each scale complete in itself and a part of the next. That ladder is what makes Holofractal Omnifederation a structure rather than a slogan — a Cell knows its place in a real nesting that does not stop at the species or the planet.
Upward, it sets the frame for how the canon speaks about intelligence beyond Earth. The Story's cosmic material holds that the Cosmos is not human-centric, that Star Nations and other intelligences are part of the field, and that Discerning Between Benevolent And Malevolent Intelligences is a required discipline rather than an exotic one. A civilization that believes the Cosmos is ordered and inhabited will build differently from one that believes it is empty and indifferent.
In play, the Cosmos is mostly met as posture: Reverence before a world that is not ours to dispose of, and the seat kept at the table for the Whole. A Cell does not act at cosmic scale; it acts knowing there is one.
