Integration
The unification of fragmented parts into a coherent whole — healing not as removal of the broken piece but as its return.
What is split off does not disappear; it operates from outside awareness and costs energy to keep there. Integration is the work of bringing it back: the disowned feeling, the exiled part of a history, the capacity that was shamed out of use, the knowledge held in one domain and denied in another. The result is not the absence of the difficult thing but a self large enough to hold it, which is a different and sturdier condition than having overcome it.
It is load-bearing because it is the shape of maturity at every scale, and the canon uses the same word at all of them. In a person, integration is what Healing is aiming at and what Mastery Of Emotions practises. In a Cell, it is why Mend a Tension returns a member rather than ejecting them, and why Navigating Difference is treated as skill rather than tolerance. In the wider body, it is the move that makes Federation different from empire: the parts are unified without being dissolved, which is exactly the claim integration makes about a self.
In play, integration is slow and specific. It happens after the event, not during it: a Retrospective integrates a season, a Look-back integrates a piece of work, OmniSpection integrates a whole field of view, and the evening reflection of The Daily Way integrates a day. The common structure is the same — look at what happened without defending it, let the parts that were kept apart be seen together, and let the resulting whole change what happens next.
Two cautions. Integration is not resolution; some things are held rather than solved, and Holding Paradox is its own discipline. And it cannot be hurried on someone else's behalf — a Circle that demands a member integrate on its schedule has replaced care with pressure.
