Vitality
Life-force moving freely — the dynamic expression of Energy flowing without obstruction through body, mind, and spirit.
Vitality is the felt reading of health rather than its definition. Where Wellness names the integrated state across all the planes, vitality names the movement within it: warmth, appetite, clarity, the willingness of a body to begin things. It is read directly and immediately, before any measurement, which makes it the earliest signal available to a person about their own condition and the condition of those around them.
It is load-bearing because it is the first thing lost and the last thing counted. A Cell tracking only Kept as a share of made will watch its numbers hold for two seasons while its members quietly empty out, and then lose three of them in a month. Vitality is what The Turn is asking after when a player says how they are, and what the Circle's one-word reading of itself on The Season Sheet is reaching for. Naming it makes a decline sayable before it becomes a departure.
In play, vitality is tended rather than produced. Breath, Sleeping, Nutrition, Rest And Regeneration, and movement are its ordinary instruments; Detoxification removes what blocks it; Trauma and unresolved Integration are its most common obstructions. A person notices theirs daily; a Circle notices one another's weekly; a Community notices its own at the seasonal turning through OmniSpection.
Two cautions. Vitality is not a virtue and not a ranking — illness, age, Dying, and the honest limits of a body are not failures of it, and a system that treats vitality as merit recreates the cruelty it was meant to answer. And vitality can be borrowed against: stimulants, urgency, and a worthy Quest can all buy months of apparent aliveness at the cost of years. The reading is only useful when it is honest.
