The Cosmic Geopolitics of Earth
The corpus's claim that this planet has been contested across deep time — a strategic place in a long story, with phases, agreements, and parties, of which recorded human history is a flicker.
The frame, as the corpus holds it: Earth's story runs far longer than its written record; it has been prepared more than once, populated more than once, and argued over by parties with incompatible intentions. Broad phases are named — the terraformings, the civilisations that rose and fell before this one, the seedings that produced the present human cohort, the covenants made and broken, and a withdrawal roughly two and a half thousand years ago after which the present darkness is dated (The Withdrawal of the Benevolent Ones).
Three postures matter more than the particulars. No categorical species. The corpus insists on factions, not kinds: configurations with their own internal disagreement, exactly as human peoples are — which is the same refusal of a single undifferentiated other that Star Nations makes. No rescue. Whatever else is claimed, the corpus holds that nothing external will override a people's own choosing; presence by invitation, never salvage without consent (Consent, Primacy Of Consent). No final defeat. Even the predatory is held inside the field of ØNE, and the direction of the whole is return.
Set down honestly: this is claim, not knowledge — the densest speculative register in the whole corpus, unverifiable by anyone here, and the corpus's own audit flags it. It is recorded because the Story leans on it and an index that hides what its corpus asserts is not an index. We Do Not Know applies. Discerning Between Benevolent And Malevolent Intelligences is the only piece of this register offered as practice rather than as history, and the disclosure thread it sits beside is The Phenomenon — a question about who controls information, which is a thing the corpus can actually speak to (Control Of Information).
Nothing in the Game turns on any of it. What does survive is the reading instruction the frame teaches: hold the long horizon, refuse the categorical enemy, and do not wait to be saved (Generational Time, Navigating Towards Truth).
