The Great Transformation

The shift in consciousness, culture, society and economy large enough to meet the Meta Crisis — arriving partly as the failure of the old systems and partly as the chosen work of people of goodwill.

Its scale is the point. Not a policy, not a movement, not a technology: a change in how people see, how they live together, how they organise, and how they exchange — all at once, because each of them holds the others in place. What it carries humanity from is a fragmented, unsustainable and unjust world; what it carries toward is a reunified, regenerative one that works for all generations of life (The Meta Crisis · Regeneration · The Way Out).

It has two engines and they are not alike. One is collapse — the corruption and failure of the old systems makes the transformation arrive whether or not anyone chose it, and that engine determines only that change happens, never what it becomes. The other is choice — the voluntary, aspirational movement of people of goodwill, which is the only thing that determines what comes out the other side (Collapse · The Collapse-Ascension Nexus · The Movement · The First Three Percent).

The canon names six layers of it, and holding all six together is what distinguishes it from the ordinary reform that keeps failing. Paradigm — seeing the interconnectedness of life, and that the wellbeing of persons, communities and ecosystems is one thing (The Lens · InterExistence). Personal — actually embodying the values, and developing spiritually, mentally and physically (Embodiment · Becoming · The Sovereign Path). Cultural — a culture that values diversity, compassion and wisdom and learns collectively (Culture · Meta Unity of Meta Diversity). Social — norms and relations re-formed around unity, regeneration and stewardship (Society · Right Relationship). Economic — from extractive and growth-at-all-costs toward regenerative, circular and just (Economy · Capital Subordinate To Purpose · Extraction Of Wealth). Institutional — governance redesigned to be participatory, transparent and accountable (Governance · Requirement Of Transparency · HoloFractal Governance).

Named this way it is enormous and can paralyse. The canon's answer is that it is not done by anyone all at once; it is done by particular people forming particular bodies and living the new pattern where they are, until there are enough of them (Islands of Coherence · Cell · The Seven Steps of Transformation · Tipping Point Strategy).
