Tipping Point Strategy

The theory of how a few become enough: change a system by reaching the fraction at which it changes itself.

A system does not usually turn because a majority was persuaded. It turns when a committed minority becomes coherent enough that the rest find it easier to move with them than against them. The fraction the canon names is three in a hundred — the same number wherever it appears, at a Community of ten thousand and at a planet (The First Three Percent, The 300).

As a strategy rather than a statistic it has disciplines. Find the resonant, and stop spending the early years on the resistant — the pattern attracts rather than promotes. Form deeply: a shallow three percent is a fad, and a deeply formed one is a movement. Federate fast, because three percent scattered is fragile and three percent federated is not. Hold the line on the means, since a body that wins by the old world's methods has become it. And trust the cascade — the early years are a gathering problem, not a sales problem (The Invitation, Cell, Federation, Integrity).

It runs beside the organic spread rather than instead of it: Fibonacci Spread describes how the flame passes at the speed of trust, and this describes the deliberate, staged gathering within the window available. Both at once. The diagnostic is one question — are we reaching three percent, or a hundred percent of three percent? Wide and shallow loses the cascade; deep and resonant wins it (Circle Coherence, Coherence).

Its honesty is in what it does not claim. A tipping point is a threshold, not a promise; it says nothing about which way a system tips, and coherence, not headcount, is what makes a minority count (Emergence, Islands of Coherence). The corresponding refusal is of growth that looks faster and carries nothing: an audience with no bodies behind it moves no threshold at all (10 Billion People In 10 Years, The Movement).
