Union

The re-integration of the individual with ØNE, culminating in right relationship, wholeness, and divine participation.

Union is the end-state the vertical path moves toward: not absorption, in which the one disappears, but at-one-ment, in which the one is fully itself and fully in the whole. The canon's phrasing keeps both — becoming at-one through reconciliation, purification, and ascent, while remaining one of the ones of ØNE. The Veil of Finitude and Forgetting says why both halves are needed: the veil exists so that a creature can be a creature, and the invitation of this turn is to walk back through it knowing the ØNE while remaining themselves.

The canon's own page on at-one-ment takes it down from the mystical register and makes it practicable. It names the challenges — ego-centric thinking, feelings of separateness, structures that perpetuate division, and past trauma, prejudice, and fear. It names the cultivation — introspection, empathy, mindfulness, prayer, community service. And it names a part most accounts leave out: taking responsibility for one's own past transgressions, setting things right as far as one is able, and committing to do better. Union is not only inward.

It is load-bearing because it is the personal form of what the body is doing collectively. The Great ReMembering is union at the scale of a people; Higher Order Functional Unity is union at the scale of a federation; Reconciliation and Conflict Transformation are union as repair between two members of a Circle. The same movement at four sizes.

At a table it appears as the unglamorous work of mending: naming the tension, restoring the relationship rather than winning, and letting the person stay.
