LIØNSBERG Honor System

A fixed allotment every Player receives each season and gives entirely away — attribution, never stored, lapsing at the turning.

Value and honour are two different currencies and the Game keeps them apart. Value is created, exchanged, and attributed. Honour is only ever the community's seeing of one another, and it is designed so that it cannot become anything else.

The shape does the work. Every Player receives the same allotment each season. It can only be given, never kept, never given to oneself, in any split the giver likes — to a person, or to a piece of work that was kept. Whatever is unspent lapses at the turning. Because nobody can earn more points to give, what is given is only ever a share of one heart's regard, and there is no way to accumulate standing in it (Gift, Attribution, Honor).

It is load-bearing because every body needs a way to say I saw what you did — and because the obvious ways of doing that corrupt. A score that accumulates becomes a ranking; a ranking becomes a hierarchy; a hierarchy becomes the thing people play for instead of the Goal. An equal, unstoreable, expiring allotment is the narrow design that gives the recognition without growing the ladder (The Golden Calf, Centralization Of Power, Institutional Idolatry).

Honour received is shown beside the stories shared and the flames passed, and it feeds no formula. It is not exchanged, not banked, not carried over, and buys nothing (The HUD, LUV, TimeEnergy).

Its paper floor is the oldest instrument there is: slips written at the turning and read aloud, with names in them. Often that reading is the most valuable half-hour a Cell has all season — not because of the counting, but because people rarely otherwise hear, out loud and specifically, what their presence did (Gratitude, Celebration, Testimony).
