The Decision
The inner crystallisation of will to depart the Old and walk the Way that opens — the choice made and remade at every threshold.
The whisper wakes you; the Decision is what you make in response. It is not a transaction, not enrolment, not signing anything. It is the inner act of committed choice that aligns a person with the seeing they cannot un-see. Spoken or unspoken, it binds; the world will know it was made by how someone lives, not by what they posted.
It commits more than you think and less than you fear. What it commits: that you will keep walking; that you will not pretend you did not see; that when the hour asks what it asks, you will answer. What it does not commit: every detail of a future you cannot yet know. That asymmetry is load-bearing, because a commitment that demanded foreknowledge could only be made dishonestly, and one that demanded nothing would not hold the trials that follow.
Where it comes from matters as much as what it contains. A choice made from the surface — for performance, for belonging, for fear of missing something — does not survive the wilderness, and the old arrangement can produce that kind of choice endlessly at no cost to itself. The Decision that binds comes from the part that heard The Divine Whisper and already knew. It also honours the no that was equally available: what makes it a decision rather than assent is the felt knowing, in the moment, that the other road was yours to take. Consent is real only where refusal was real.
It requires no ceremony and no witness, though witness deepens it. It can be made in stillness, written in a journal no one will read, spoken to one trusted person, named in the Circle, or offered in wordless prayer. Made once and lived, it changes the orientation of a lifetime; considered many times and never made, it changes nothing. After it comes the boundary — small irreversible acts — and the backlash that arrives because the old does not let go silently.
