The False Prophet
The eighth disease: liberation rhetoric in the service of new domination. The words of the Way used to build the thing the Way exists to end.
The danger is not that the words are wrong. They are right — that is the mechanism. Sovereignty, awakening, the commons, the new world: spoken faithfully, and arranged so that the listener's trust flows to a person, and the person's authority is not recallable by anyone. Liberation is promised; the structure delivered is a centre with a voice at it.
Because the words match, words cannot be the test. Three tests can. Can this be left? A true carrier makes leaving easy and says so out loud; a false one makes leaving expensive and never has to forbid it (Manufactured Dependency). Can this be recalled? Authority that cannot be withdrawn by those it serves is not the Pattern's authority, whatever it teaches (Necessity Of Accountability). Does it point beyond itself? A faithful voice hands people back to ØNE and to their own discernment; a false one makes itself the necessary channel (The Golden Calf).
Two more tells are cheap to check. Critique: a true carrier can name their own lineage's shadow as readily as its gift, and welcomes legitimate critique as improvement; a false one experiences it as attack. And fruit: by their fruits — what has actually been built, kept, and handed on, rather than what has been described.
The structural answers are the ones that do not depend on judging a person correctly: distributed rather than singular voice, rotation, recall, transparent reasoning, no node permitted to coerce another, and unmediated relationship with ØNE for every being, which removes the position a false prophet needs to occupy. Also the plain refusal of the posture itself — we have heard, not I have invented.
