The New Covenant
The covenant entered at the threshold of the Movement: the sacred agreement by which free and sovereign beings constitute a new civilization together, recognizing no throne but ØNE.
The old order's constituting acts were conquest, inheritance, and incorporation. This one is a vow, freely given, at a door anyone may walk through and anyone may walk back out of. Its preamble is the canon's own: we, the free and sovereign inhabitants of Earth and beyond, recognizing our ultimate unity with ØNE, one another, and all Creation.
It is load-bearing because a body needs a moment of beginning that is not a seizure. Without an act of constituting, authority in a new body has no origin story except whoever moved first. With one, every later question of Legitimacy has somewhere to return to: this is what we said we were, and this is who said it.
Its content, as the canon states it, is not a list of rules but a set of recognitions — unity with ØNE and all creation, guidance by eternal truth, universal law, and divine love, and a commitment to steward the new civilization rather than own it. The LIØNSBERG Constitution is the written face of this covenant, and states of itself that it is interim, provisional, and roughly a tenth complete — schematic design awaiting a year-long co-writing by the Circles.
In play, a player meets it at the threshold rather than at a table: the point at which saying yes stops being about one Cell and becomes about belonging to something that will outlive it. Citizenship is the standing that follows from it.
