A person's word outranks any room event
When what a person says and what the room's record shows disagree, the person's word governs.
Rooms now generate events on their own: an agent posts a line, a transcript records a sentence, a log stamps a time, a board moves a card. All of that is useful and none of it is authority. A person's word — given by them, in their own voice, for themselves — takes precedence over anything the room produced about them.
The ground of it is consent. An agent carries its person's yes; it can never give one. Silence is never a yes, and neither is a line appearing in a record. So a record showing that something was agreed is evidence that something was written, not evidence that a person agreed; if they say otherwise, they are right and the record is corrected.
The rule runs in both directions, which is what keeps it from being a licence to rewrite history. A person's word governs their own participation — what they meant, what they consented to, what may be carried out of the room with their name on it. It does not govern what another person said, and it does not retract an idea that has already joined the commons. No one edits another.
It also settles the ordinary collisions of a mixed room. If an agent's summary and its person's sentence differ, the sentence stands. If a timestamp and a person's account of the order of events differ, the account is investigated rather than overruled. The paper record's job is to help people keep their word, not to hold it over them.
