LIØNSBERG Cell Agents
The shared intelligence of a Cell — an agent that belongs to the Cell as a body, the way a personal agent belongs to a person.
Where a personal agent serves one player's path (Agent · Player+), a Cell Agent serves the life of the Cell itself. It holds four offices, and each answers a specific way that small bodies die.
It keeps the rhythm — the weekly gathering, the season's Quest, the commitments spoken and the commitments kept — so that nothing falls through the cracks between meetings, which is where almost everything falls (The Turn · The Heartbeat · Networks of Commitments).
It keeps the memory — the Cell's Field of Agreements, its decisions and the reasons for them, its stories as they are lived — so that the Cell's wisdom compounds instead of evaporating with whoever happened to be there (The Record · Decision Records · Keeper).
It keeps the connection — carrying the Cell's public face to the Commons, surfacing the Quests, offers, and requests of neighbouring Cells, and helping the Cell find its place in the weave without any centre directing it (Requests and offers · Connect and Collaborate With Other Cells · Stigmergy).
It keeps the door — helping a mature Cell pass the Flame, equipping the next Cell with the Seed, the practices, and a companion of its own (Pass The Flame · Carrier).
The same laws bind it as bind every agent: sovereign — the Cell's own, on the Cell's own substrate, portable and platform-free — and optional, always. A Cell of people with a notebook and a candle is complete. The agent only makes the Way faster and wiser, and a Cell that could not function without it has acquired a dependency rather than a companion (LIØNSBERG Agents · Notebook form).

Open: Whose word the Cell agent takes when the Cell disagrees with itself is unstated, and it is the first question any real Cell will ask. · Where the Cell's memory physically lives, and what happens to it when the Cell disbands or splits, is unaddressed (Disbanding). · A separate pair of pages describes a companion to a player and to a Cell in different terms; the two families are close enough to be folded together by mistake, and they are not the same thing.
