Requests and offers

A request is a plain ask of the whole. An offer is what a Player has to give. They travel on the card, every week, up and down and sideways.

We need three volunteers on Saturday. We have a van and a Tuesday evening. Two sentence-shapes, said at the table, written on the card, and sent through the door. Together with commitments, they are the only things that cross a membrane between bodies — never a task, because no one in the Game assigns work to anyone else's table.

They are load-bearing because this is how a body allocates itself without a center. Nobody dispatches resources. A request simply is, and anyone who can answer it may; an offer sits in the open until someone needs it. That is enough to move hands, tools, money, and skill across a town, and it preserves the thing an allocation office would destroy: every yes is still a free yes from a sovereign table.

How it is played. Each person names an offer and an ask in their round at The Turn. The table's own go on lines 10 and 11 of The Season Sheet and through The weekly door to The Board each week. A request that a Cell cannot answer travels to its Home Cell, and what a level cannot answer travels up with the sheet; what is sent up as The Offering is what resources the answers. Answer what you can and say so; an unanswered request left visible is honest, and a request quietly dropped teaches a body not to ask. Anything that blocks the work is not a request but an Issue, and it gets an owner and a date.
