Condition

How an Actor is right now, said in one word and dated — and a reading that has gone stale expires to unknown*, never quietly to* ready*.*

Ready — free and able to take work. Engaged — carrying what was committed; not free. At capacity — full to its own ceiling. Degraded — below its own standard, with a word about why. Resting — out by its own choice or its own season. Out — unreachable. Unknown — the line expired.

Condition answers exactly one question: can this Actor be asked now? It is not whether they have kept their word, and not what would satisfy the work they hold, and not the slow arc of a life or a season. It is a check-in rather than a chapter: fast, cold, and honest (Commitment, Conditions of satisfaction).

The expiry rule is the whole of its integrity. A readiness that quietly persists after nobody has confirmed it is worse than no readiness at all, because work is routed on it and then vanishes. Expiring to unknown means the body routes around silence without assuming anything about it — neither that the person is fine nor that something is wrong (Honesty about time, The clock is read, never computed).

Degraded deserves its own sentence. It narrows what may be sent; it never bars. A body where saying I am below my standard this week removes you from the work teaches everyone to say ready instead, and then nobody's word means anything. Saying it plainly, and being handed something smaller, is what the word is for (Zero Blame Environment, Load, Rest And Regeneration).

Readiness belongs to standing, not to being human: a person, a Cell, an agent, or a body of Cells each holds one, and each states its own (Actor, Position).
