Every Story Is A Prophesy
A true account of something that actually happened is also a statement about what is possible — a glimpse of even greater things yet to come.
A Quest is not finished until it is told. And every telling does two things at once: it reports, and it predicts. The report is that a family was fed, a river cleared, a wound mended, a wrong made right, in this place, by these people. The prophesy is the sentence the hearer supplies without being asked — if this was possible here, it is possible where I am.
This is why the corpus treats stories as the growth mechanism rather than as morale. A manifesto proposes; a story demonstrates, and a demonstration cannot be argued with in the same way. A true account of a transformation in a community carries more power than a thousand manifestos, because it moves the question from could this work to what would it take here — and that second question is one a person can actually answer on a Tuesday.
It is a prophesy in the older sense, too: not a prediction of what will happen, but a naming of what the world is like, given that this happened in it. What a story proves is the capacity — of these people, of this Way, of a place that looked incapable the week before.
The claim carries a discipline. A story is prophetic only if it is true, which means witness rather than marketing: what was actually done, what actually broke, who actually came. An embellished story prophesies something that does not exist, and the harm is precise — the next body follows it and finds the ground missing. So the stories that travel are told plainly, with the failures in them, and the prophesy they make is the more trustworthy for it.
