Celebrate, Learn, and Improve
Move five: retrospect, refine, and mark what was good — because what is celebrated and refined is what becomes worth telling.
Three things in one move, in that order. Celebrate, because a body that only measures itself will grind down, and joy is not a reward for the work but part of how the work is sustained. Learn, because the difference between what was said and what was done is where the knowledge is. Improve, because a lesson that does not change a card, a rhythm, or a set-up will be learned again next season at full price.
It is load-bearing because it is the return loop of the whole Game. Every Defect Is A Gift is the posture; Retrospective and A3 Reports are the instruments; Continuous Improvement is the result. Without this move, Share the Stories has nothing refined to tell and Pass The Flame hands on a practice that has not been corrected by contact with reality.
How it is played. Weekly, inside The Turn: one line learned, written on The Circle's Scorecard where everyone can see it. Seasonally, at the turning: the Circle sees itself from above — inward, outward, backward, forward — which is OmniSpection, done in community, because retrospection alone is not enough. Name what to stop, keep, and start; give each improvement an owner and a date, or it is a wish. Close a lesson only when its fix sits where the next work will meet it. And mark the season: a meal, a telling, a thanks. Celebration is a Pillar of the new civilization, not a nicety at the end of an agenda.
