The Season Sheet
One page, at each turning, from every Cell to its home. Its fourteen lines are numbered, and the numbers are the same in every language.
Everything inside a season belongs to the Cell: what it calls things, what day it meets, how it tells its stories. The Season Sheet is the one thing that must be the same everywhere, because it is the one thing that leaves the table. A home reads ten of them in an evening; a supercell reads ten of those. Four levels of this and a town of ten thousand knows itself in a single turning.
It is load-bearing because it is interoperability made of paper. The fourteen lines are: 1 Cell and place · 2 Home and Carrier · 3 season, named by its opening turning · 4 members, new, left in order · 5 Quests and their state · 6 commitments made, kept, kept as a share · 7 flames passed and Cells formed from them, by name · 8 Offering gathered, kept, sent up, with its unit · 9 the story, under a hundred and fifty words · 10 offers · 11 requests · 12 proposals · 13 how is the Cell, one word and a line · 14 witnessed by two hosts, dated, with a count of its lines of writing. If a line is empty, write none. A sheet with all fourteen lines is complete; a sheet missing a line is not yet a sheet.
How it is used. Fill it at the table in the week of the turning, with everyone present. The two hosts sign, date, and count the lines. A copy stays in the box; the original goes to the home within a week, by hand if at all possible, because the handing over is half of what a home is for. Two signatures and a line count are the whole of the paper's security, and they are enough. When the sheet is translated, the words change and the numbers stay: line 6 is line 6 in every language, which is what lets a supercell add up sheets it cannot read. Line 13 is the line a home reads first — tired, growing, grieving, glad — because it is the body's way of feeling itself before it counts anything.
