Identity

Who one is — anchored first in ØNE, and, in the Game, carried as something self-given that no registry issues and no registry can take.

Beneath every name, role and affiliation, a being's truest identity lies not in religion, nation, tribe or form but in the Source from which all forms flow. That is the highest and uniting identity, the one from which who we are and who we are becoming are read, and from which inalienable standing flows whatever lesser citizenships a person also holds. Re-anchoring there is what keeps someone from being unmoored when older forms are set down. Every narrower identity — of family, Cell, craft or place — is whole in itself and a part of that one, never the top of the order.

The old order runs the other way. It issues identity from above, through a state, a platform or a registry that can revoke, suspend or sell it, and identity becomes a licence to exist. Here identity is self-given and inalienable; endorsement is added by others and withdrawn by them; the holder alone holds the root. Identity as a demographic category, a brand, or a set of beliefs one defends is lower-order — real, but not supreme.

Two things are kept apart that most systems conflate: who something is, and where it sits. Identity is sovereign and persistent; an address is where a body stands in the holarchy now, and it changes when a Cell re-homes while the record keeps its history under the same identity. A Cell that moves is not a new Cell.

The floor is a name and a word on the roll, witnessed by two. Everything above that is elaboration.
