The Five Moves
The compressed loop, as it is printed on the card: form a Cell · choose a Quest · learn and grow · share your stories · pass the Flame.
Five moves are what fits on The Playcard and in one reading aloud. They are the same breath as The Seven Moves with the inner moves folded in: weaving coherence lives inside forming the Cell, and doing the work and learning from it are carried together as learn and grow. A table that plays the five is playing the whole loop; a table that has played a few seasons will find the other two moves already happening and may want their names.
They are load-bearing because they are the first thing a new player receives and the last thing a Cell forgets. Each is stated so a ten-year-old can repeat it: three to thirteen by name; one real thing this season; say what you will do, do what you said, learn from the gap; every Quest becomes a story; carry the Game to the two or three who are ready.
How they are played. Move one is Form a Cell: by name, with an agreement out loud about how you will treat each other, and two hosts for the season. Move two is Choose a Quest: real, near, and yours. Move three is the discipline of the week — The Turn, Commitment, The Circle's Scorecard, and the gap. Move four is Share the Stories, because a story travels further than its tellers. Move five is Pass The Flame, and the new Cell is its own, never a branch of yours.
