Guardianship
The duty to protect what is holy, vital, and aligned — carried without domination and without surveillance.
Guardianship is the standing willingness to place oneself between life and what would harm it. It is not the same as control, and the difference is the whole content of the idea: control protects by making others less free, and guardianship protects by making them more able to be free. A body that confuses the two produces exactly what it feared.
The ladder of the move is the discipline. Detect — notice that something is wrong, early, when it is still small. Name — say it plainly, to the people concerned; most harm survives on not being named. Withdraw consent — stop supplying the thing with what it needs from you, which is the largest lever any sovereign holds and requires no force at all. Neutralize — act to stop the harm, with the minimum that will do it. Restore — put the relationship, the person, and the commons back, because the point was never the neutralizing.
Most guardianship never reaches the fourth rung. Naming and withdrawing consent resolve more than force ever has, which is why the same field that trains for protection trains hardest in Restraint As The Refusal To Act. And because guardianship is a power, it is bound like every other power here: decentralized and local, chosen for integrity rather than might, transparent in its reasoning, revocable by those it serves.
For a Cell this is ordinary. Guard the membrane on purpose: decide what is visible, what is private, who may come. Say the hard thing early. Anyone may say Stop, and it takes effect at once. And under all of it, the floor — when a member is in danger, in body or in mind, the Circle acts first and records later. No card is more important than the person at the table.
